So Im happy to say Kershawguy.com has a new blur model Ive been hoping for. It had BDZ-1 blade steel with plain edge and black handle. Ive wanted to check out Kershaw BDZ-1 steel for sometime but I didnt like green blur in this steel due to the serrations. It always seems every cool limited edition blur comes with serrations but finally one Ill be adding to my collection

I feel like such a tool posting this, but I did a quick search on his site and couldn't find anything. Did he mention it in his newsletter?

On that website, I found the..
1670BGTST Green Smoke Tanto Blur
It says that it is made of BDZ1 steel.

Sorry he just posted it in the For Sale by Dealers thread....Yes there is the green smoke blur in BDZ-1 but its serratted and I dont do serrations not my thing. I believe and very much maybe wrong but this is Kershaws first plain edge BDZ-1 steel knife I know about. Dave said he would have pocs up today sometime

Unless I'm mistaken, this will be the first tanto blur that does not have serrations.

There's a super mega rare plain edge tanto Blur from back in the day. But it may as well be a unicorn. I think people see Bigfoot more than they see this Blur :p

This sounds very temping, anyone have any experience with the steel?

I dont know much about this steel at all myself reason I want to get one. Ive been on this kick of trying different steels lately

It's true you know...

Tis correct, a plain edge Tanto blur.

You sir are awesome! Will be ordering shortly!

I feel your pain. Gonna order one tomorrow and ask for forgiveness next week when it arrives.

You mean on Saturday because Dave ships super fast!

The stonewahsing on the BDZ1 is just too perty to pass up. That and the fact that it's an LE Blur should seal the deal.

Here's the Carpenter page on it. From Carpenter's "Selectaloy" chart, BDZ1 is very corrosion resistant with fair edge retention. It's pretty tough as well. I have the smoke green tanto Blur from last year with the tanto BDZ1 blade and combo edge. I've hit some heavy metal staples on accident while breaking down boxes and thought for certain I would have damaged the edge (even worse, in the serrations), but nada. An occasional stropping has been all I've needed so far for maintenance. I haven't had to re-sharpen it yet.
