New Kershaws at Walmart!!

I was thinking about this a bit. As for preloading, an easier way to explain it may be to think about snapping your fingers. You give it pressure, then the fingers slide across each other. Try 'snapping your finger' on the flipper. Press on it to build the pressure then give it that last little bit that lets you snap your finger.

Kinda like pulling the trigger on a gun as well. You take up the slack, apply some pressure, then you hit that sweet spot where the 'glass rod snaps'. Of course if you don't shoot, that doesn't help either, huh? :D

How's it coming?

plain edge!
as to to pulling the triggger metaphor, i do shoot a lot, from glocks to ARs, i know he feeling where the trigger is pulled back right to the point of release, i then hold my breathe and gently squeeze to keep the firearm on sight, i think my approach for the Zing is different, i can get it to work, last night i made myself do 10 in a row before going to bed, but it is stil not automatic

I guess I picked a good first flipper then, if the zing is one of the harder ones to master, the others will be a snap***!

:D

***pun not intended!***

All the flippers are about the same once you learn the technique. The Needs Work is SpeedSafe assisted, so no worries!

Grumble Grumble... The Walmarts around me don't have any of the new stuff yet. I was told to return in a few weeks. It only took me three days of calling two different Walmarts to find this information out. I went to one on the way home from work and apparantly no one works in the Sporting Goods department and when I finally did get some help the guy tells me they don't have them because they aren't on the cardboard picture of knives in the display case. Dude wouldn't even open the case to check. After mulling over the idea of just setting the store on fire and standing outside to watch the people try to escape the flames I decided I would just try to call. So someday I'll have a Zing and an OD-1.

You know, I've had similar issues with my local Wal Mart. I've found that if you just hop over the counter, 2 things happen.

1) They've left the keys behind the counter somewhere, so you can get whatever you need for yourself and take it over to automotive to check out.

2) As soon as you get the cabinet open, someone shows up. Apparently they can pay someone to watch video displays, but not man the department? Go figure!

ok, so it is meant as a joke, but hey, stranger things have happened!

:D

My Wal Mart in Post Falls, Idaho has the new Barrage folders, but no Zings or OD-1's. I'm hoping to see the OD-1's sometime in the near future, but no luck thus far...

I'm gonna have to check out wallyworld and see what they have.

I used to have some Kershaws, when they were old.:(

You guys are killing me! I am wanting an OD-1 bad, but I absolutely refuse to step foot in a walmart. Let alone purchase something there.

A new Zing last week and I got the OD-1 yesterday. Sweet knife, I really like the way it opens with the fold away flipper. The Barrage or Skyline will be next.

Not a terribly big fan of Walmart myself, but this is one of those unusual cases where they chose American made over China. I look at it as an opportunity to make a statement to Walmart that selling American made products could actually bring them customers they otherwise might not have.

Eh, I better not stop by, as I actually would pick up a Zing, and don't have the money for it right now :D

Excellent point. Everyone needs to go buy a few! Make a statement, stimulate the economy, etc.

Another reason Kershaw Sucks!!!!!:
You guys make TOO MANY cool knives!!
Why cant you be like most other manufactorers and only make ONE or two cool knives?
nooooooo
ALL if your knives HAVE to rawk!!!!!!!!!

Well.. I stopped by my local Wally world and checked out the only 3 models they had:
OD1
Skyline
Zing...

and I walked away with the Skyline.

I swear, this is one of the smoothest production folders I have felt, with the exception of maybe the RAM...
I thought the Skyiine was small, but the blade is exactly the same length as my Emerson CQC7B that i had on me.... the skyline is a HECKAVALOTA knife for not alotta money...
feels great in forward and reverse grip too.... i just gotta fix the clip tho... its on their backwards!!!
speaking of the clip, i LIKE IT! its not one of those wild crazy Onion ones.... wish this same clip was on some of the Onion models....... also, is this clip the same as whats on the ZTs?

As for the other models... LOVED the Zing! Fired like an AO, and the blade grooving is really cool.....
The OD1 was really neat once i figured out how to work the flipper/AO.... not quit as natural to me, but maybe that was just me...

anyway, i bought the Skyline and gave it to my wife.... that justified the purchase.......
now I think im gonna order a Damascus one!
