New Kershaws look intriguing

I'm glad there are more sliding bar locks appearing on the market now. There weren't too many in the first couple years after the patent expired, looks like all the other companies' R&D just caught up and we're going to see a lot more of these. I'm really excited to see what competition in that space is going to bring us. Hopefully it inspires Benchmade to step it up too.

Very nice after around a week of using and fiddling with them

Very nice mqqn! Did you happen to pick up an Iridium? I’m wondering if it’s worth the ~$50 or so…
That one looks pretty cool to me, not sure if I would end up carrying it tho, I might hold out and see if they do a USA made bar-lock :-D

I did not, but metsfan metsfan did and it looks pretty nice.
Hopefully he'll chime in here.

If I squint (other than the OTF) they all look the same...

A $300+ Kershaw?
We have seen $210 delivered for a USA made, aluminum frame OTF auto.
I would also point out the original Speedform, Volt and the Ruby as higher end Kershaw knives that I can recall.
All are outstanding.
My order for a 9000 is in, hoping to receive it by end of week.
Looking forward to comparing it to my friend's Infidel.

Wow, nice. I have not owned/handled a Kershaw, but always wanted a Launch auto - Magnacut, the Yin to the Yang that is Cruwear PM?
Sounds dope, pretty sick, you know. I can FW it. In short, I faux widdit.

Why no Kershaw? Never got to it. There are models that sound very viable, like the Leek. Why the need for that when you have a RAT and a GRIK? Maybe the 20CV steel?
The OTF is probably fine. I have only a partial grasp of why people go so nuts after them. I have a nice little UTX-70 and I enjoy that, maybe sometime this year, a full size Microtech. I hope one of you Virginians go test the Kershaw, I'd be interested.
You do know that faux is pronounced like foh pah, right? Just learned that myself a little bit ago so just sharing something that was new to me.

The OTF looks quite nice, I have wanted to pick one up but at over $300 for most worth buying in that size, it’s not likely for a while. However at $230 I may just get one.
The HK and hogue autos are not visually appealing to me, and a microtech in that size is approx $100 more.
How are the heretics?
Heretic is leaps and bounds better than Microtech IMHO. I have a Manticore X and and Ultratech, there is less rattling with the Heretic. The Heretic is easier to open and has the same or less blade play than Microtech. I've handled and used most of the Microtech line up so I feel that I am not skewing my opinion too much, just have weak hand strength so easier to open and close wins every time. Neither one though comes close to my Piranha Excalibur, no rattle at all and almost imperceivable blade play. Unfortunately their customer service isn't great at all, they won't even sharpen your knife for you which is a no no in my book. Especially if sharpening voids your warranty.

Yes haha, I do, just a silly lil pun there, but it is indeed French.
But I used to mispronounce a bunch of words as a teen, like nostalgia, I would say with an "AL" instead of an "ALL" because I had only ever read it, not heard aloud. 😂

Got a Launch 15 on the way and the way people who've gotten it talking about the Iridium has pushed me to snag one of those when I'm able as well. I know some folks are disappointed, but this is first Kershaw release in years that I'm planning on picking up multiple different knives from.

I personally think Kershaw is doing a good job reading the market when it comes to automatic knives. People are catching on how simple these mechanisms are and are beginning to question the price tags especially with poor customer service from some of the big names. I think Kershaw saw a spot to wedge their foot in the door and I hope it's a winner.... unlike the SOG Pentagon OTF

Kershaw is best as a wave folder, especially if ya open up the wave cut a scotche.
What isn't cool with a wave? :)
I love no stud, no blasted THUMB PLATE to snag on my cuts... plain blade/hole + wave is the way. I open two handed most of the time, my larger waved knives, I just like having that choice.
