New Kershaws? What is this?

I have no idea what the craze is with the cleavers, I see them everywhere in cheap knife sites if I look. I think it is a coolness thing for some... "Check out my pocket cleaver", or something. But, I am a guy who likes thick, heavy blades usually. I like Saber and Scandi grinds. But not this butt-ugly thing.
I think cleavers were birthed out of the Instagram pic craze. I’ve noticed an uptick in butt-ugly cleaver customs hitting the ‘gram last few years.

I just did a search for Kershaw Bareknuckles. They all seem to have aluminum handles. Was there a sprint that had G10 scales?
Not to my knowledge. There was a sprint run in carbon fiber and M390 however.

I don’t know what the deal is with Kershaw putting out all this weird crap.

They really need to hire some new designers.

Also does anyone know if ZT has anything new out yet? I did a search but couldn’t find anything.
On video they said they are doing quarterly releases now, and were real hush about zt, saying only that at least one new model is coming soon and would be great (what ever that means).

The priciest of the new releases.

This thing looks like it fell out of the ugly tree and hit every branch on the way down… and I usually like Kershaw’s stuff.

Anyone? Is it just me?

Nothing they are releasing looks good at all to me. Only kershaw I have is the link, great knife, I'd get a bareknuckle one day, but nothing else really.

That 14 is just ugly, trying to capitalize on the faded cleaver style phase that lasted a few months.

I also went through some of their new models today… Except for the Federalist ( a slip joint), 90% of them look like $#!t, I’m sorry to say it because I too like some of their models.

I hope they do more collaborations with Rexford, George, Sinkevich and Hinderer.

In the weird new reality , apparently the only thing that matters is to take a pic/video and get some likes on social media for it .

So functionality as a tool is irrelevant . o_O

Even uglier is how they're labeling their new China made knives:

Really trying to bury that lede there..
Oh that's just disgusting

in my industry this has been going on for a couple decades. a grill register manufacturer left China and went to mexico...and labeled their boxes made in North America. this was almost 16 years ago or so.

copper pipe I see often as made in prc. not hard to figure out, but few people asked me if it meant made in Puerto Rico, lol.

an equipment maker was doing made in America years ago until they got slapped hard. they switched it to assembled in America. now they have that designed, engineered and assembled in America on their boxes.

point is ive been seeing this marketing spinning for a very long time. nothing new......
