If I'm spending that money on a 14C28N lockback knife from Europe it's going to be a Fontenille Pataud, which is at least a handmade and beautiful knife.
If you're going to use 14c28n in a $200 knife at least heat treat it properly. 58hrc is a low hardness and will not take advantage of the steel, 60-62hrc would make a much better performing steel. And if you want to claim it as a mountain/bushcraft/rescue knife put some thumbstuds on it so it can be opened with one hand. Imo this should be a $75-100 knife max and that's pushing it. Dunno why CRK would want to push that knife.
I'm worried that Tim and his mother might be in over their heads here. Did anyone catch the 2017 Bladeshow interview? They seem lost. I hope these knives stay as perfect as they always have been.
