New Knives Day. A Couple Bark Rivers

They are a dark green. They call it "Forest Green". They don't really "pop" as far as color goes, but they make a subtle transition from the bright steel to the red scales.

That looks great, I actually prefer subtle liners...I'll have to remember that combo for future pre-orders

I have had a mixed experience with BR, but not necessarily bad. IMO they have some of the best looking and most accessible fixed blades on the market. And they really do fill in that niche of customized production blades that is not all that common for bigger name fixed blade makers. I did however get a dud Bushcrafter from them in 3v that seemed to have a poor heat treat, as the edge folded like cardboard with some fairly simple cuts. That being said, they made it right and fixed the problem without issue, and got it back to me in a few weeks. I’m willing to let a mistake slide as long as a company can stand by it’s warranty. Now I have a magnacut classic drop point hunter on preorder from them that I can’t wait to get in hand.

As for the politics behind certain makers, I could not care less about other peoples previous experiences or perceptions of a brand. I’m not trying to be besties with every knife maker or company owner I buy knives from. We are engaged in a business exchange. If they follow through with their part and I provide compensation that is where our relationship ends. Everyone’s mileage will vary there depending on their own personal experiences, and they are free to make the decision that works best for them.

I don't want to keep stirring the pot in this thread, but my money is on the distinct possibility it wasn't 3V steel in the first place. They may have made it right with 3V, but I bet that's not what you had to start off with.

I am speaking from experience here, as my "3V" knife may as well have been Jello and certainly was NOT 3V - heat treated or not.

Then maybe stop stirring?

Are you done yet? Is this your last word?

Anything not praising bark river is stirring and gonna rile these guys up. Nevermind the actual people speaking from real experiences, only praise singing here! Or they'll (gasp) "are you done yet!" anyone not saying what they want. Rolls eyes lol

Shane's experience is valid. The man has every right to speak his experience.

How about you. Is this your last word?

All I know, is that I have real experiences too. And "my truth" is that they make fine knives. They have made bad ones too I'm sure. I am not sure what you have been reading, but I don't care if anyone sings BRKT's praises. I just do not care. You like them? Fine, me too generally. You don't like them? Fine, that's cool too. Let's all just agree to disagree!

I just think it gets old to see every BRKT thread turn out like this.
