New KSF Benchmade Exclusive...

Mine arrived yesterday and I must say I am suitably impressed. The fit and finish is better than my 940-1. Blade is perfectly centered, no screws that are too long. Its as perfect as I can expect a production knife to be.

I agree with the comment that Benchmade does stunning carbon fibre work and that brings me to my first CF knife - the Gold Class Griptillian from about 2011 (?) - also M4, also CF and from memory was about $300-350. Looking at this guy next to my Gold Grip (which now has a M390 Ritter blade) I think it is worth the price. I prefer the contoured CF with the nested liners like some others have suggested but it is still a very good knife and will, in all probability, get more use than my Gold Grip does.

My copy of the 940-1 is immaculate in terms of f&f and everything else. About the best BM I have. If this Stryker is better than that, it must be very good indeed.

I don't recall KSF reducing the price on of their own Benchmade exclusives at any time. KSF did reduce the price on the SHOT Show Rift some but eventually KW had a killer deal on them.

It was the ZT0801S110V model that it was on, also a MAP item.

After looking at the pictures, this is a beautiful knife and I wouldn't mind having one.The biggest drawback for me is the size... I like my knives a little smaller, but there are plenty of people who
like knives in this size range.

As far as the price goes, personally I think it could have been lower. I think $200 would have been a good price for it, and probably would have increased the overall sales of this model in the long run. Now that the initial excitement and anticipation is over, I have to wonder if the sales will drop off at this price ? I could be totally wrong about this too, and only time will tell.

All production Benchmade knives (including this one) are MAP priced. We priced it as low as Benchmade will allow.

That's nice to know and very nice of you to do! Thank you!

I do recall you having the 2015 Mini Rukus which I believe you were selling at MSRP. That gave me the impression that maybe you were doing the same here, Which gave me "hope" that at some point the price might come down a bit like I've seen before with other BM exclusives, although not from KSF.

It's a beautiful knife and I love everything about it! I'm also a BIG fan of the Stryker so maybe at some point I'll be able to get one from you.

Thanks again for posting in this thread and clarifying that!

Can anyone tell me the handle length of this knife? The right size might just push me over the edge

I got my M4 Axis Stryker a week ago Monday and have been carrying it on and off since then, to the job and up to Vermont and back. It fits right into the sweet spot of my preferred carry size--large Seb, Barrage, Grip, Manix, Para2. It's a bit on the heavier side, but it's a heavy-duty knife and the heft feels good. The handle is not thick--same as a Sebenza--but broad and fits my old, beat-up carpenter's hand just right.

Previous posters are right-on about the carbon fiber--BM does it right and this is the best I've come across. I've got two 940-1's (one with a 943 blade in it) and, as nice as they are, the CF and F&F on this one is even better. The knife broke in almost immediately, is super smooth, free-drops with no tweaking, and is dead-on centered.

The cutting-edge profile is very close to a large Seb and this is the sharpest BM out-of-the-box that I've come across. I've been very impressed with M4 steel since I picked up a Spyderco Gayle Bradley.

As far as price goes, yeah, it's a bit steep, but it's still less than a 940-1 and how many of those have been sold? It's a different animal than a Sebenza, but it's a top-shelf knife and $250 is way less than the $350-500-and-up range that CRKs go for. Benchmade got this one right, it's a helluva knife and well-worth the price.

Thanks for stickin' with it, Derrick, and gettin' this one out.

These Stryker M4/CF started selling on September 23rd (about two and a half weeks ago).

I believe the first batch was 200 plain edge and 50 partially serrated. Now, 57 of plain edge and 35 of partially serrated are left.

...and there will be more. :)

Mine should arrive on Tuesday. I am and likely always be a sucker for certain BM's, particularly the CF models.
