New Layout Sucks

How come our number of posts isn't visible anymore?

I'm sure they are still working out the bugs. But I have no real problem with the new format thus far anyway.

Lol. Complain about a site you don't even help support and then say you should have paid features for free. Classic.

Give it a chance folks. It's a huge change and still needs tweaking. I personally much prefer the new site.
 
Will someone from the new site come over and fix me a grilled cheese sandwich and do a load of laundry?

Seriously, it will all be OK, just give it chance. Relax. Spark is on the job.

Click on a persons username, or avatar. You can see it there.

I'm used to this format, from other forums. I like it personally.
 
Some people can't read the announcement that's been at the top of the forum since it reopened, Spark's still improving and fixing, it will keep getting improved as we go along. Patience is a virtue...

Classic is right. But it's the entitlement generation at work I suppose.

I've been through a couple of software changes in my time here. It always works out just fine. Give it a minute.

And I can argue the "new layout sucks" theory... maybe the software is flawless and it's just YOU that sucks. Like I said, a theory...

This is the ONLY Knife forum I frequent and now spending time here will be less enjoyable.

OK, I know I'll get used to it in time, but that's the problem, it's going to take time and head aches.

I haven't seen it from my desktop, yet. I have only a vague idea of what is involved with this sort of switch-over; but that's enough for me to not cast a hasty judgement.
I saw some features I didn't care for, and dug around until I figured out how to disable them (or reduce access to the point of reaching the same result). I also turned off just about all of the notifications (especially those with a social media flavor).

Luckily, I generally start my browsing with New Posts, then check specific areas of I have the time & desire. It's easy enough to jump into the Exchange from new posts; so that will eliminate a lot of the scrolling... and, hopefully, moving things into broader categories will help ease navigation for when I do want to view a specific subforum.
If, after the dust settles & I get a better feel for the new setup, I still don't care for it... well, spending less time online wouldn't be such a bad thing, lol; and my finances will probably be thankful.

I can't agree more with this. Also, I can't understand why Tapatalk isn't supported. I'm sure there are reasons but shoot, it was supplementary at the very least.
 
Man, it will be a real shame when some of the folks complaining decide not to come back because of the new format. Real shame indeed.

Spark mentioned elsewhere he was still contemplating Tapatalk.

Some sites have been dropping Tapatalk lately due to the way they aggregate and publish data and pictures.
 
Give them a chance man..... also you can now watch forums so I just watched Becker and Kabar to get to them quicker I just click watched forums than either Kabar or Becker this can be done to the best of my knowledge for all forums

Oh, okay. That makes sense. The thing I valued most about Tapatalk was being able to send media via PM directly from my phone's memory without having to attach anything; i.e., send HD full-size pics through a message (uncompressed). Maybe I'm missing how to do that on this format, but the size allotment for uploads is very small as of now.

ETA: In Tapatalk I would get a notification, on mobile, if someone replied to my sales thread, replied to a post I made, or sent a PM; never had to access the forums to make a quick reply.

I must say, I dig the a e s t h e t i c s of the new layout :cool:

A newbie with entitlement issues. Let's all chip in and buy him a clue. Guys, if you see something that doesn't work for you, please let us know. This xenforo software has a lot of improved capabilities. It will improve, day by day. Have patience, and complain! We will get it right.
 
If it's hurting your sensitive eyes then turn down the brightness setting on your monitor
 
It is constructive criticism and that is what this section of the forum is dedicated to.

I agree the color format is harsh on the eyes and the old layout was very good compared to most other forums on the net.

If there is any chance for members to have options it would be appreciated.

I know the site it fresh and just trying to get its feet planted back on the ground but how else would Spark know unless we ask.

Glad to see it is back up.
 
I gotta agree about the black vs white background. I definitely preferred the black background with white text.

What I really want to know is why it is when I click the New Posts link under the Forums tab at the top of the screen it doesn't seem to show any new posts. It just keeps showing the same posts each time with no update.

I think the software was probably becoming dated on the older forum. Ideally they will be able to get this new forum to mimic he format of the older forum as closely as possible, while still running on the newer code.

Edit: It seems like if you put the New Posts tab as a favourite on my phone's browser then it does not take you to an updated New Posts page as new posts are added. Rather it takes you to literally the same page you favourited with the outdated posts.
