New Leatherman Super Tool 300

I saw "September" in the press release posted earlier. No exact date, though. I hope it's before I have to head up to NorCal for a wedding in late Sept. Just so I can have a new toy to play with :D
 
I had a SuperTool and it was sweet. Got stolen some years back and I've been rocking the Wave and Wave II ever since.

I recently picked up a Core though, purely because the price was right. Its a great tool IMO, a lot like the ST but with a better locking system.

I like the simplicity of the Core. If it had a pair of scissors, it would be perfect.

Luckily I also have a Pulse.... ;)
 
The other great thing about these big heavy weight multitools is that they would be great for self defense.
Just keep it in an old tube sock/slip case in your back pocket, bad guys come at you. Boom, they'll never know what hit them.:D
Weighing in at 10.1 ounces it will surely pack a wallop.

I like the looks of this model more than most of the newer Leatherman tools. However, it looks like it still retains the same designs flaw (handle pivots at plier head) that turned me on to the Powerlock.
 
I was on Knifeworks site and they have the ST300 up for pre-order, I bet others have it too up for Pre-order.

I saw something similar on eLeatherman.com. They have both models and the replacement cutters listed as out of stock, so perhaps they're just gearing up for the release.
 
And now the ST300 is near as so the Core faces it's final curtain!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

one guy snagged one already from evilbay, and he got it! we think it's a pre-production model, tools fall out! but it's nice and he got it before us!
 
If the tools are falling out, don't want one like that, I just hope Leatherman worked hard on their QC before letting these out the door.

If the jaws don't jam, I'll be picking one up. If they're sticky, then I'm going with the power assist this time around.
 
I'm pretty sure the final release product will be fine, Leatherman is pretty smart.

but I'm still gonna wait for the price to come down!
 
Knifeworks.com has them for pre-order for $59.95 , seems like a good price to me!

Any pics or descriptions of the sheath yet?? I edc my Core for work but the sheath always seems ready to pack it in . . . .:thumbdn:
