Hi all,
I've been reading BladeForums for some time now, but have just registered.
I remember earlier this year seeing Gianni saying somewhere that a linerlock carbon fiber PM-2 may be out.

And I just found out that KnifeCenter has listed a new Lionsteel PM-1 knife,
with the title and the picture both show a lockback knife,
but in the description says it's a "PM-1 BK Police Linerlock Folder".

Does anybody knows that if it's the PM-2 that Gianni talked about,
only with the wrong picture and wrong product name?
Or it's the normal PM-1, but with the wrong description?

There are two types of PM-1. Black blade (PM-1) and stonewashed (PM-1S).

On a Swiss website I saw a PM-2 which is supposed to be out this month for 174 Swiss Franc ($189):

Wow! Thank you for the PM-2 photo.
Seems like it's only KnifeCenter using the wrong description.

I found a PM-2 photo on www.polizeibedarf.ch too.

But to me, unlike SR-1 & SR-2 which are practically the same knife but in different sizes,
PM-2 seems so different from PM-1,
they hardly resemble each other.

I also think that PM-1 and PM-2 do not look anything alike. However, I think their main concern was to drop the price substantially.

The PM2 looks great. My only concern would be the overall thickness of the knife. Although I can't find those specs anywhere.

Are you going to pick one up RamZar?

Ordered one already and it should be here by the weekend. I believe the thickness is 0.14 inches but I'll measure it when it comes in.

I've had my LionSteel PM-2 for several days now and it has buttery smooth from day one. That's unlike my PM-1 which I got earlier this year which needed a lot of breakin time.

The fit and finish are superb and it's an excellent cutter. Feels real good in the hand. Both have Sleipner steel.

PM-2: 3.6", 6 oz, liner lock.
PM-1: 3.4", 6.75 oz, lock back.

PM-2 is very smooth and PM-1 built like a tank.

Looks really nice! Great ergos and blade shape. Love that belly. I wish it was 3.5"

It's a lockback like the original PM1?

Based on TM1 lockback with IKBS and integral frame?

Any pictures?

No Details except "based on the latest Lionsteel Technology" - Whatever that means

Probably means IKBS because the Additive Manufacturing of TM1 Ti-Dust is only prototypes. It could mean the old Solid / Integral frame but that has been around with LionSteel for over 4 years now.

On the website it says (Google Translated):

NEW Lion Steel is currently producing exclusively for Polizeibedarf.ch a new heavily revised version of the highly successful Swiss police jackknife PM-1. The PM.1 MK.III is about 30% lighter be (thanks to new technology) and will have a blade made of steel NIOLOX. The new PM-1 Mk.III will be available in about 2 ... 3 months.

Seems like the older version MK.II is also on sale over the Swiss Website too.
It's a little tempting because I've been searching for the PM-1 for nine months with no results,
and was being put on a waiting list since then,
when I bought and paid a PM-1 with Thanksgiving discounts on a well reputated US website,
and after a few days the website told me that although the PM-1 showed up in their computer,
but they couldn't find the knife in their inventory,
and I have to wait for restock.

As time flown by it's now nine months already.
It was a sad sad day for me.

I don't know if I should wait for the MK.III to come out,
or grab the chance and just buy the on sale MK.II,
and go through all the trouble buying on a Swiss website that's not famous for their customer service.

BTW, the Swiss website also says:

BREAKING NEWS: The Italian company Fox Knives Military Division is currently working closely with Polizeibedarf.ch together on a development of a new Swiss police folding knife PM-third The knife should come out in the third quarter of 2014.
