New Lionsteel PM-2????

Hi,
Polizeibedarf released some Details:
- Monoblock handle with additional Steel Liners
- Niolox as Blade Steel
- additional safety spring for the Backlock (???) like TM1

Andi

I kind of like my original lock back PM1 more than my liner lock PM2. I'm hoping the new lockback one has IKBS. I remember how long it took to break in the stiff pivot of the PM1. I think the PM1.3 is not solid/integral frame but two pieces of G-10.

TM1 technology (ie, the two handles are made a full 6mm thick G10 block machined with all contours etc. It is a very complicated production process In contrast to the TM1 steel liner be additionally installed to reinforce what makes this G10 shells to.. strongest on the market
- Use of tungsten carbide glass breaker
- New long pants clip
- New blade from the German NIOLOX tool steel
- New high-grip pad at Backlock backup
- New safety springs in Backlock (as with TM1)

The US website tells me today that the PM-1 is being discontinued and no longer available. :(

I hope this is just a misinformation,
and the new PM-1.3 will be available on US online retailers in the futre,
cause I would really hate to go through all the trouble to buy on a Swiss website.

PM-1 is discontinued, it is changed with PM-1.3 that will available in September.

I just grabbed a PM 1 (black blade) from an auction website that is in excellent shape. Great price too, feel lucky since they are discontinued and seem to be not readily available. Impulse buy after reading this thread!

How do you like yours, RamZar, excluding the break in period?

Congrats!

Very solid. Closes like a bank vault. Very comfortable in the hand.

Nice! Appreciate the reply, hope all is well too. Been awhile!

Got it at a very nice price also, could not believe it. Sometimes you just gotta pull the trigger...especially when they are not in stock anywhere.

Got it in today and really like it.

Just in time to get a PM 1.3 when they come out, which I shall! :victorious:

So first Picture of the Prototype are shown with an unfinished Blade, missing Glas breaker and missing Clip:

Available end of October

Looks similar to the original backlock PM-1. Depending on the price I think the backlock LionSteel Micarta Satin may be the one to get. There's a lot of value in the TM-1 Micarta, SR-1 Aluminum and SR-2 Aluminum.

So Pictures of the Production Version are up with a availability Date: 17. November

Google Translate:

NEW from November 17, 2014 finally available the latest version of the very successful Lion Steel folding knife PM-1. The version of PM-1.3 has a lot of improvements over the original version PM-1. Thus, the blade steel was changed (new NIOLOX steel Sleipner) and the whole grips geometry has been completely redesigned. the weight could be further reduced by the LioN Steel TM1 technology has been applied. As always, we offer the knife to probably the best price / performance ratio for a Lion Steel product.

I wonder how long it will take for the PM-1.3 to be available in US?

LionSteel PM-1.3 Police is finally out at several U.S. dealers for about $226. It looks almost identical in size and shape to the original PM-1 which was also a lockback. It's supposed to be lighter but other than that I can't tell much of a difference except for blade steel and stonewashing.
