New Magnacut, stained after first use in kitchen

"Super Steel" already stained after cutting some buttery steak, vinegar, alcohol, or peroxide, nothing worked. WD40 looked like it worked, until it dried a few seconds later and still nothing removed. Apparently staining is a known problem with Magnacut stain-less steel, and one that never happened once to me on any other ss (even cheap steak knives).

I'm not looking to 'scrub' anything, but is there any liquid that I can gently apply to destroy this stain, clean the steel, and easily wipe off so it can be used in the kitchen?
Did you happen to buy this "magnacut" knife from a fellow named Guy Seiferd?

Your post, like your article, doesn't mention staining. Testing for stain resistance on a stainless steel, not just corrosion resistance etc.

The problem isn't removing the stain once, it's getting stained after food prep / meals and having to deal with that every time I use it, which is every day...with chemicals. It's a problem I never had before with any steel.

And mine's a skinner....

It's not just raw meat though, it's also cooked. I bought a Magnacut skinner so I can easily prepare meat, wash, and eat, without transference of material or 'patina'. On that end, it failed. It's a reality I would have liked to known before purchasing.

Looks good to me! Love “patina.” How does the knife cut?

One test at a time. If it fails the first we move on to the next.

That's pretty subtle, right there. Most people would probably have glossed over that. I know I did.

I’m just revelling in the fact that I may have gotten to correct David for once! Instead of the other way around. Haha

He’s probably working as hard as ever while posting, so I’ll give him a pass. ;)

Stainless means "stain resistant" not "stain proof". Now if an extremely slight discoloration causes you this much anxiety it's your prerogative to not use it. But it's not like you were lied to or done dirty. There was no "false advertising". Magnacut is in fact "stainless" and highly "resistant" to stains.

I don't recall reading Magnacut was "better than everything". Nor do I think the knife you have is "worse than everything". More than one person has suggested a way to clean a slight discoloration, but you declined to put any effort into doing so which again is your right.

Maybe just use one of the more stain resistant knives that have performed better for you since ...
It's a problem I never had before with any steel.
and sell or give that bad knife away rather than jousting windmills.

Todays phrase is ... realistic expectations.
