I've been making a lot of changes in my life recently, and the overall effect has been that I've gone from 250lbs at 5'10 to 190lbs. Within the next month or two, I'll hit a long term goal of mine: To get down to a healthy 180lbs, and a better indication of health, less than 15% body fat. To commemorate my loss of (soon to be) 70lbs and the the transition to a much healthier body and a much healthier lifestyle, I've decided to do two things:

1. Buy myself a nice treat, meaning a custom Swayback
2. Give away my Case TB62117CV Swayback Jack

I bought this knife in November of 2009, and I've been impressed since the day I bought it. The fit and finish, the aesthetics, the blade steel, and the pattern itself have shown to be the makings of what I would say is my favorite traditional production knife, and even further, my favorite production knife of any type. Over the years I've slowly gotten rid of my collection, and this is the one knife I kept. It's been my sole companion for about a year now, and I've never missed any of the others.

It's been used well and shows a healthy patina on the main blade and some minor discoloration on the pen blade, and the main blade has been reprofiled to the lowest setting on the DMT Aligner and then finished on my Sharpmaker at 40 degrees. The pen blade has the factory edge, which shows a bit of an uneven grind, but it's pretty insignificant and it's still shaving sharp. There is also one area that a friend of mine tried to smooth out with some kind of stone (teaches me not to loan out my knives without specifically telling them not to modify the damn thing :rolleyes: ), leaving an indentation that, while noticeable, is nonetheless still smooth to the touch and pretty insignificant. I've managed to live with it. The knife still functions beautifully, though, and so if you don't mind a well used knife you'll be more than pleased with this one.

This giveaway will run until I lose these next 10lbs and hit my goal of 180lbs, and anyone is free to enter until the day the giveaway is over so long as you've made at least some kind of contribution to these forums. Your post number is your entry number, and I'll use a random number generator to select the winner. And now the knife:

Congratulations on your weight loss and best wishes for continued success and maintenance.
Please count me in. Sound like a nice way to find out if I like swaybacks.

Hmmm. I've been wondering about this pattern. Ok, I'm in. Good job on the weight loss, by the way. Keep up the good work.

Count me in please. I love the patina and the mileage on this one. Its going be right at home in my pocket. :)

Losing 60 lbs so far is quite an accomplishment. I'm down 20 and have another 24 to go. If you can do 70 lbs., maybe I can do 44. :thumbup:

This is not an entry but I wanted to say congratulations on your life changing choice to a more healthy life.
Great giveaway! Nice knife!:thumbup::)
