New member here - a couple of questions...

MolokaiRider MolokaiRider , thank you for your list. I actually really liked the look, and the reverse clip in the Kershaw Link. The handle looks a little cheap though, is it? I want something that is good quality, sturdy, will keep a sharp blade, and is not to big.

I actually like the look of the Kershaw Blur as well. It is a little above my price range, but I bet I could scrap up $20.

I really need opinions on the Gerber knife. If it is no good (in your opinions) I will tell the seller I found a better option. If it is good however, I need to go ahead and get it, because I have had them holding it for a few days now...

Ordering from Amazon is not recommended, as it’s flooded with fakes, returns, and seconds. It’s a crapshoot.

The Link scales can be had in aluminum or the FRN. I have both, and have found the FRN to be very tough, and actually more ergonomic.

You have to look at who you are actually buying from. Some reputable dealers sell through Amazon. But you are usually better off dealing with them directly.

The only problem with buying them on Kershaw’s website, is now they are at and above $120.

They have 5 star reviews on Amazon, so I think I will buy from them.

So what are your guy’s final opinions/tips/suggestions?

Kershaw Blur? Or Kershaw Link? (Tanto)

I’d buy from BladeHQ, DLT Trading or GPKnives. Those three are my go-to and have never let me down

I will buy from BladeHQ then. They seem to have more varieties, and they are around the same cost.

Link or Blur guys? (I’m leaning towards Blur...)

Really? That is interesting, because the Blur is almost twice as expensive as the Link.

I don’t know... they are both really nice. Thank you all for your opinions so far. I am still awaiting more people’s thought though... :)

I like the basic idea of the Blur but find that the Link has better ergos. At least for me.

That is the big controversy with me as well...

The handle looks really nice in the Blur, but the blade seems more nice on the Link.

I guess it comes down to comfort VS practical?

Do you have both of them? If so, which one has a faster deployment?

One thing to note about the Blur is that the grippy inlays are really grippy -- and they protrude slightly above the aluminum. I owned a Blur for a little while and quite liked it, except for that; I eventually got tired of being annoyed every time I pocketed it and sold the knife.

I don't own either now, never owned the Link, just checked out a friend's. I bought a Spyderco Para 3 when they came out and I've since gifted almost all my folders but my leatherman and some sentimental old slippies that were my Dad's, except it and my BM Bugout a friend has at the moment. I'm usually more into small fixed blades, but like a folder for some applications.
