New member here - a couple of questions...

One thing to note about the Blur is that the grippy inlays are really grippy -- and they protrude slightly above the aluminum. I owned a Blur for a little while and quite liked it, except for that; I eventually got tired of being annoyed every time I pocketed it and sold the knife.
So it’s hard to pocket? I definitely don’t want something like that, as I use my knives SO often, it would be annoying.

I am considering getting the Kershaw Link, in the all grey color. It would match my G-Shock GD350 3403 perfectly.

Regardless of the quality or not of the Gerber you have to ask yourself do you want to be associated with the cringe factor of Bear Grilles.

For me the answer is no.... you do you.

Yeah, didn’t think of that, lol. I have decided no, on the Gerber.

I think I am going to go with the Link. The Blur is nice but... it has some issues.

The tough part, will be deciding what color I want.

It will either be the original (black hilt with silver blade) or the all grey one. (The one I’m leaning towards.

They don’t have any difference other than color correct? (Like type of steel for the blade?) Sorry for the newbie questions.

Link steel is 420hc. Perfectly fine. Blur is 14c28n, which is one of my all time favorite steels.

The Blur is lighter and thinner, and has flow through construction making it easier to clean.

You can’t go wrong with either.

OP you will learn in time it's not so much looking for the right deal, it's about justifying in your own mind why you need to be making any more deals at all when you own more knives than you will ever need in 76 lifetimes.

I have one of those, they are nice. Aluminum scales and a nifty black wash blade.

Enjoy!
Thanks! I will post pictures as soon as I get it!

Good advice, thanks H Houlahound .

I haven't been happy with Gerber since the late 90's. I bought a couple of their multi-tools back then-the model that came with the pliers jaws that you could flip open. I used them until they were stolen. My wife bought me a replacement in the mid 2000 timeframe. It was a poorly designed, cheaply executed and bulky multi-tool which I eventually gifted back to my wife and replaced with a Leatherman Wave. The Wave was better designed and more useful. I will never buy another Gerber. I have one Boker from the 90's and it is a nice slip joint trapper-perhaps a bit better executed than similar offerings from Case. I say that even though I have a soft spot for Case pocket knives despite knowing that I have to hand pick ones before I buy them due to my experience with their quality control. As I stated earlier, I stay away from Gerber. In my opinion they are a shadow of the company that they once were as far as value and quality for the price.
