The prototype will be the "real deal" this time. Made from 3V. 0.268" thick steel. The tang will be skeletonized. It will be much lighter than you think, yet still be forward-balanced for chopping, etc. Also, the grind will be "stout"...meaning probably 0.030" thick at the edge (up to 0.040" behind the sharpened edge).

I like thub grooves, as long as they are set well forward of the end of the scale. Nothing like choking up to a little hot spot... ;) Placement on this one looks good.
