New Neck Knife

great looking knife ray... i like the nice wide blade... lots of belly too...

I think it looks great, you could drill two small holes just in case they want to fit scales .

Gents,

You would not believe how well Ray's 1/8" O1 cuts. Those tall flat grinds and polished convex edges make for a ridiculously sharp knife.

Great work Ray!

If they cut anywhere near as good as they look, they must be incredible.

Ray,
I like the handle on the one you posted but the blade on the one JW posted.
Either way, I don't think anyone could complain about your workmanship and attention to detail. You certainly have an eye for design and it's not just "the look." Everything I have seen of yours has a base functionality to it that you just know is going to "work." I tend to favor smaller, lighter knives for most uses but every photo I have seen of your work reflects a very sensible balance of apractical amount of "beef" without unnecessary bulk and weight. I don't see any defference in this one.

Your Kydex work looks pretty damed good too - your attention to detail shows in that as well as it does in your knives. You are really doing a service to the art of custom knife-making.

Thanks to everyone for the comments. I really apreciate them. I decided to put a belt loop on the sheath so it can be carried on a belt. I'm just not too fond of neck carry.:o

Ray, have quite a few knives from you but didnt know you made neck knives!??
Superb workmanship as usual!
Will contact you :)

Ray, you will find it right at home on tour belt. Did you make the same style loop for it, as you did for mine? Its waay cool, and you dont even need a belt on, it stays very secure just clipped to the waistband.....

I absoulutly love mine, its my favorite knife, the HWK+ is "the one" fixed blade for me, but the Project W is my favorite because I get so much more use out of it as my EDC.. That said, the class of your folding nessie, makes it a safe queen for me, and I dont have any others that fill that role. Being as its a gift from the women, and a hard one to get, I doubt it sees very much use. More of a dress knife.

I have no doubt that this one and a SAK or multi would fill every role in the city or woods I would ever need, if they were all I had.

After you get caught up, I am gonna have you do another one for me, and start a passaround for it. Im not sure which model, either the HWK+ or one of these 2 neckers.

I think everyone needs to handle one of your blades first hand. If they like em in pics, they will flip when the see em up close.

I really like the overall size of the knife and the shape of the blade. I would want scales on the tang and a belt sheath, but either way, I think you have a winner.

I'm with Jeff H on this one. The visuals on the blade shape of J's version is more fitting with the clean lines typical of your knife. Just smoothen that clip shape out into a more gradual drop point and it will look better.

Performance wise it should be great!

It is a similar blade design to the Becker Necker but it has the handle I wish my Becker had. Nice practical design.

Beautiful design, would like to see it about 1/4" longer if it's going to be for belt carry
