New Nylon Drop Loop

NOW your thinking Eric!!! What a great addition to a large knife sheath. I'm in for one, two,-----

It needs a Loop for a leg strap though so it won't flop around.

Also maybe just a little more material on the knife strap and add either a thumb snap or Velcro strap to hold the handle of the knife as added security.
 
I think it looks great!

Just one question - what is the advantage of having a ring to add length as opposed to just one loger belt loop?

I feel like I'm missing something very obvious here...
 
The ring isn't to add length - its's to let the blade rotate relative to your belt. For example, if you have the blade strapped to your leg as well, when you sit down, the nylon going from the sheath to your belt can rotate as your leg bends.
 
To me the major benefits are articulation and ease of movement. Especially when sitting...

Ok, I have made some slight changes to the design. Shortened the length about 2 inches, tapered the square edges that butt up to the ring, and painted the ring black for less "bling".

I may possibly, in the future, offer a split belt loop design like some have suggested. For now I think it would be easier for you guys to skip a belt loop with your belt:p

The butt of the handle will ride at the top to middle of the belt line. So when gripping the handle it will be at, roughly, pocket height.:thumbup:
 
I like it sofar, add a leg strap attachment and strap and you can send me one. :thumbup:
 
That is EXACTLY what I've been looking for. Oh my if this becomes a new option...I don't know, but I'd be 'giddy'. Since I got my first Busse, BWM, everything about them makes me grin.
