So the wife and I have been looking for a dog for a few weeks now. We like the idea of saving a dog from pound and went to see quite a few. After much trial and tribulation on size, being good with kids and cat friendly we will be bringing home this lab/pointer mix! The shelter named him clover but i kept thinking it was a girl with that name. Still thinking about names so here's a pic, what would you name him? We'll be picking him up in about an hour!:D

He was worn out by the end of last night.. passed out right in the middle of the living room. These pics his face looks very pit.

Yeehaw is what I say to name him.

That way everytime you're out you can yell Yeehaw at the top of your voice with good reason.

Busse?

Seriously, you've already got Snicker ... why not another candy bar name? Something you favor that fits the color.

Had friend down in East Texas with a dog named "Leftover." Thought that was the name given because that's what he fed the dog.

Asked one day, he said, "No...we found him. He was left over by the road."

sigh

That's great your gonna have some great times together !

How about Jackson after Jacksonville ?

+2 on Lucky, cause you could of bought a puppy.

I've been rhymming all day its driving me craazey

That's a retreiver/pointer mix? Looks more like a Jack Russel/Pit bullmix...:D NONETHELESS, looks like a good dog to me. I remember when I was a lad bringing home a mutt from the county dog pound. We all picked a name, wrote them on slips of paper, threw them on the floor and then waited to see which one the pup investigated first. As I remember this was Chips; a funny brindled brown small dog with a docked tail. 'cross between a French Bull dog and a ..a.. a SOMETHING? Have fun! You did the right thi:thumbup::thumbup:ng!

Congratulations on the new pup! He looks good.

Name him lucky. Congrats on saving him from the pound!!

My wife is a veterinary technician. She says naming a dog Lucky is a death sentence. For some reason she says dogs named Lucky always seem to have a lot of problems and die early. She would also say you did good by getting a shelter dog as they seem to have fewer problems than purebreds.

I like non traditional pet names. We have three dogs and a cat at the moment. Tucker and Emma both came from the pound and are mutts. Mack is a Bullmastiff that the wife brought home from work. He had been left in an abandoned flea infested home with no food or water for almost a month. Thud is the cat. I found him hit in the road hence the name Thud.
