New Personal Bowie

I like to carry one of my own. It provides me with a tool that is very practical, a source of advertising my work, and pride. By the way that one you made is a beauty.

If that blade doesn't drum up a few orders when you show it, I don't know what would! The fact that your gonna carry it:D:D:D

Nice knife Terry, but I guess I just can't figure out how one carries a knife of almost 13" in length as an EDC unless I misunderstand what you plan to do.

Robbin Hudson, MS once told me about his carrying a 15" bowie around as his EDC. He says it served him well in the library snagging books over his reach and as a bookmarker, among other things.

He said he could do anything with a large blade which he could do with a smaller, but a smaller knife couldn't do what a large blade could. :p ;)

Mississippi is NOT Connecticut. I am jealous. :D

Those who attend the Little Rock Show have seen John Fitch with his similar size sheathed bowie sticking out of his back blue jeans pocket the whole show. You never know when you might need some substantial steel!

Awesome looking knife Terry.

I guess also being from CT, makes me think that I would be PROMPTLY arrested for carrying that, if seen by law enforcement!

Terry, yet an other cool knife:thumbup: Unconcealed carrying a knife of even the smallest size would raise some serious eyebrows overhere;):D:grumpy:

As I said before this is a great knife and I love that you are going to keep and carry it... I think some people would be suprised at thte size knives some people carry:D

Thanks Guys,

I love big knives but my personal bowie resides in my van. I am in the field a lot and that's when I wear it on my belt. Like Don alluded to, I consider this to be a small bowie and If I go into a convenience store for a Coke, I take it off. People just feel uncomfortable.

In Mississippi it's better to get a conceale carry permit and carry your revolver. The permit does not cover a knife.

Terry, they must have felt uncomfortable in the late 1800's, also. Gun and knife laws have seen a lot of changes over the years, and will continue to do so, as we are all so aware.

My wife writes history articles for our local newspaper. Section 268 of Ordinance 23, passed in our small town in June of 1893, is stated below. It sounds like they were trying to get some control on the lawlessness that was occuring at the time.

"No person shall, in this City, wear under his clothes, or concealed about his person, any pistol or revolver, slung-shot, cross knuckles, knuckles of lead, brass or other material, or any bowie knife, razor, billy dirk, dirk-knife or any other dangerous or deadly weapons. Any person violating any provision or requirement of this section, shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and..."

It is nice there are states that still allow concealed carry permits for guns here in 2009. Missouri is one of those states.
