New Predators film knife content spotted.

The international trailer was just posted on-line yesterday and it's much better than the first domestic trailer.

Who the heck chose the cast for that one?

:thumbdn:

I don't know maybe Larry Fishburne and Danny Trejo might save it. Also Walter Groggins he played Boyd Crowder in Justified. Which I thought he was fantastic in. If you want a mega cast wait for The Expendables. Hopefully this new Predator is better then the movies that followed the original. Oh and the part in the trailer where Brody was sighted in by 80 friggin' predators that was sweet.

Back to knives according to imfdb it was a TOPS Eagle 107 knife of some kind.

The first movie was one of the best action movies ever IMO. I think I will watch it again its been years but it is classic. I was really disappointed with the alien vs predator movies. I dont think this one will be very good. One thing that made the first one was the cast and this new one doesnt have one.

I think what made the first one so damn good was for 1 the cast. But also not seeing the predator in every 3rd shot helps too.It was less a sci-fi movie and more of a military horror movie that just happened to have a kick-ass alien in it.No other director has seemed to grasp that notion since Predator.

Nice. Call me a sucker for sci-fi action flicks, but I WILL be seeing this one.

I doubt it will top the first one, that's a real classic, but I did enjoy AVP 1. And I'm looking forward to this one. (I love Aliens, the one with all the space marines, too)

As a kid I LOVED the look of that big tacticool machete the big indian carried! Hope they have some good blades in the new movie. .......Well at least they have some dude with a katana to satisfy my inner mall ninja. :D

In case people are confused Rodriguez' career as a director took off with "El Mariachi" in 1992 or so and has been doing pretty well since. He is responsible for the "Spy Kids" movies. He has partnered up several times with Quentin Tarantino, most notably in "Planet Terror". Any director who has Rose McGowans leg get chopped off by zombies and replaced by a machine gun...well I'll watch his movies.

Nope he does not get his actresses nude. I actually respect him for that. He does have Selma Hayak dance a memorable dance in "From Dusk Till Dawn" and Jessica Alba dance a bit in "Sin City" though. I'll watch that too.

Now someone can come along and argue that Rose McGowan never would have been able to shoot and feed a belt fed 50 caliber machine gun (IIRC) from the stump of her leg, much less jump through the air based on the recoil. You could argue that a magazine fed weapon would have been better, but I was enjoying Ms. McGowan's activities and bounce so much that I overlooked the finer points.

Now if you are the kind of movie watcher who can see a W.C. Fields flick and say "Ridiculous! No man could drink that much and be so adverse to water and survive", or watch "Sin City" and dislike it because it was not "realistic" well likely you won't like Rodriguez' work much.

This movie could be worth a look though.

Sometime his new movie "Machete" will be out. There will be a few knives in there I suspect.

I hope they use the knives for more than just slicing their chest or cutting vines like in the first one!

You're forgetting the "Stick around" part, you know, where Arnie throws his big knife through one of the bad guys, sticking him to a wall.:)

Terry Crews who played the main bad guy on Gamer had his knife in a sheath system similar to this. I found it quite puzzling at the time.

Awesome knife though. Handle looks confusing in the pic, but unsheathed the blade looks almost like a Strider Tanto.

Thats right - I did - I need to watch the movie again.

Never thought of it that way

but that is just about a dead on way of putting it as I have ever heard

I am going to see it tonite...R. Rod doing the directing etc sold me on it...He is a fanboy like the rest of us so I am very hopeful

Predator's legend lies much on the Arnold's shoulder. However Rodriguez is director never to be underestimated. Sure Adrien Brody is least like action star... Why they couldn't take Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson instead? Sure brody is better actor but The Rock would have fit better.

I mean you don't expect Predators even nominate best picture or best actor in academy awards so Brody seems to be waisted in this role. However we do see that in the film. Till then... I try not to say anything.

There's just so many sweet firearms in that film... Am I only one who actually wants Predators wrist blades?

It was meant to be a "sequel" to Predator 1 and 2. Arnold and another actor were going to make a cameo, but they got cut.I thought it was a decent movie, and that Adrien Brody was good in it, and even though the Rock or Vin Diesel etc..may have been better, after seeing the movie, if they were in it, I think it would have been worse.

Went to see Predators today, first show.

From what I was able to catch, the knife in the movie looks to be the TOPS Steel Eagle 107C:

In the scene I watched, the serrated edge of the blade caught the reflection of light.

so how much knife play was there in the movie?

If I hear one more person say that the Rock should have been in this movie I swear I'm going to throw up. Thank God director Rodriguez had more sense than that. The best way to make a movie unbearable is to star the Rock. :barf:

infant predaters?

not far from the truth

if you go with the "dogma" of the series, then the ones hunting the humans would be more or less considered children or the least expierenced warriors

The ones that hunt aliens are more or less Teenagers

and so on

just got back from seeing it

Brody wasnt bad at all...The bad ass action super star thing wouldnt have worked with this movie

Parts of it really showed the low budget of it, but I as pleased for the most part

I would go a solid 2.75 of 5 with a SERIOUS nod to Walton Goggins and Topher Grace and of course Ozawa Changchien for there roles

btw

as for knife content

anyone else catch Billy's pred bowie from the first one??
