You are probably sick of me posting pics of snakes but I keep finding them and then can't help but take pics !!!

This snake was real grumpy, must have woken up on the wrong side of the rock this morning !!!
This snake tried to bite me a few times and came pretty close, in fact he struck my camera lens, which brings me to this point.
I know I have said that these snakes do not have any venom but they can still give a nasty bite.I have to mention this incase someone reads my posts, spots a snake and thinks pit says these are ok and then gets bitten !!!
My son was bit by one about half this size last year and you can ask him if you don't believe they hurt ! I didn't want to hurt the snake by pulling it off my son so made my son lay quiet with the snake on the ground until the snake thought it safe to let go and wriggle away !!!!

As you can see it is a horrible day !!!!

That reminds me I must shave my legs !!!!:D

Pit,
Great photos as usual. Please we do not need to see any photos of your shaved legs :D unless your shaving them with one of your knives :p ;)

awesome awesome..as usual, what kind of bag is that I just started using the maxpedition devildog after seeing it in myaka's thread. it's awesome..Pooring a little bit of water on a snakes head will sometimes get them to let go....(don't ask) thanks for sharing the great pics as usual.

It's a Maxpedition Proteus !!!

I'll try that with the water, thanks bro !!!!

Hey pit, you wear that as a belly bag or a butt pack?

Been seriously considering that bag for my hiking bag during the warm months, how's it working out for you?

Butt Pack....I'm loving it, there is nothing I would change about it and for me that is unusual !!!!

Get pics:thumbup: Thanks!

I'm amazed you got your son to lay there quiet til the snake let go. My guy's a trooper, but I don't think I could get him to do that.

haha nice setup pitdog

looks alot like mine :)
i'll throw up a pic of my new kit based on a maxpedition fatboy type-s

but your kit looks great

cheers

PitDog do you carry any water on you for the hikes? I love those pics, out here in SO CALI everything is dry and brown. Yea we better dont play with fire here on the hike today i walked by some places so dry a single spark would ignite an infreno. Its only a Q when it would go up in flame. Too much dead brush.

Sasha

I like butt packs too! Just enough room for a minimalist day outing and lets you move freely. Trouble is rarely do I find a design that manages to stay on your waist when the load gets heavier.

Pitdog, I assume this isn't the case with the Proteus?

Um, a note on the snakes, if I may: firstly, keep them coming. I never get to see wild snakes anymore. Second, the water should be warm, and you should pour it over the snake's head. Alcohol is also supposed to be effective, but I don't know. I'm glad you opted not to harm the snake that bit your kid. You have some great scenery; always dig your posts.
