So I just received the new Queen Cutlery Country Cousin in green linen micarta. I have to say that I'm pretty impressed, a job well done by Queen! I'm not usually a fan of shields on sodbusters but I think this one works great, very classy logo and paired nicely with the micarta. It seems that Queen has figured out that their edges have been an issue and addressed the problem because this came hair popping sharp! My other Queen soddies had edges that needed reprofiling, not this one, so kudos to Queen. I'm going to pick up another just to carry and add this one to the collection. They also are offering this in a lockback now with the linen micarata, I'll be picking one of those up as well! If you've been kicking around picking one up, you won't be disappointed! Here are some pics:

I saw that for sale the other day. Very tempting. I'd like no shield and something that will develop a patina, but I might need one of these.

Might well be one of the most sensible hunting knives I've come across in a long time. If I didn't have a fixed blade that I purchased last year I would be all over this one. If it is anything like the Queen D2 knives I have the steel is going to really impress over time.

That's a good looking knife! Thanks for showing this one to us.

Very nice. Natural linen micarta looks great when done right. The shield makes it look a little "busy" with the large pivot pin. I'd still carry one as it wouldn't be a deal breaker. I've always liked the Queen shield.

I might have to get one of these. I like the sodbuster idea, but most have too much belly and too little point for my taste. I've wanted to try a Country Cousin, but didn't want to spend a week reprofiling it.

Wow - that looks great! Thanks for sharing!
Really like that linen micarta - will be interesting to see what else they put it on :)
That's good news about it arriving sharp too
Hope it's the start of how they'll be doing things from now on.

Great looking knife...would like to see more micarta offerings from other makers in the future. Personally a big fan of the green micarta look...may have to pick one up.

Very nice.

Interesting that they've omitted the 'Country Cousin' etch from the blade, and gone with the more standard Queen etch. The shield is a great touch as well. I'm still hoping they'll finally get around to making a larger version of the same pattern; In D2 and micarta, I'd jump on that with both feet. :)
