New Queen Sodbuster in Linen Micarta has arrived!

Ryan Daniels will be at the Mason Dixon knife show this weekend, and I hope he has a few of these Queen micarta sodbusters with him for sale. These are the only micarta folders that really pop with the micarta scales, from what I have seen.

interesting!
i like the color although im not sure about the shield. i generally think a shield is either gilding the lily or putting lipstick on a pig. lol
i have one in black plastic but i havent carried it much. the blade needs re-profiling and whatever they use for their blades sure does take a long time to 'get there'.

I'm a fan of micarta! This could look good in red too.

I have a Country Cousin in Yellow synth and it's THE best sodbuster I own: just right in the hand and the D2 is very keen.

I have been jonesing for Queen made by the new owners and this one looks like a nice one to try out. It has been added to... "THE LIST". :D
Thanks for posting, trevytrev.

I have a black CC and it has the best blade shape of all the Sodbusters I've seen. The D2 did need some work to reprofile but it holds an edge very well. I really do like the micarta on this one!

Looks grand, it's great to see Queen listening to their customers. That Micarta is very becoming. Their D2 is excellent in my experience.

Glad you guys enjoyed the pics and hopefully a few of you pick one up! I do prefer a carbon steel as well but the D2 is a work horse one an edge is put on it, luckily they put one on for me this time:D I just pulled the trigger on the lockback sodbuster(a new model for 2013) and an extra for the drawer. Hopefully this is a new sign of things to come from Queen. I'll post some pics of the lockback when she arrives next week. Trevor~

Kept on coming back to this thread to admire that sodbuster....... one too many times! Have one on it's way. Thanks Trevor!

The Micarta on this knife seems to be well polished sp will it be too slippy ?

Also , how is the ergo compared to a Bullnose ? This is almost as costy as a Bullnose.

Yes but with significantly better handle material and, in my opinion, significantly better steel.

But not such a manly profile as the Bullnose . And I may prefer a wooden handle if the micarta is too slippy .

If GEC could make the SFO #73 NF Farmer a thicker handle ,then it is difinitely a full dressed and well designed "Sodbuster", even it has a bolster.

Just received my Queen Sodbuster in the linen micarta. Overall I'm pretty happy. It's a reasonably well made knife (just one very slight gap). The micarta is really very nice, and is not at all slippery. Actually has a bit more grip than my recent ebony purchases. The blade is VERY sharp out of the box. Happy to have this one. It is going right into the pocket as a weekend warrior.

Pics to come in a couple of days.

Peter
