Hey BF,

Knife is sold! Thanks for looking.

This is a new model that was jet out over a year ago. I have been playing around with two blanks and decided to post one. The knife feels great in hand. It is one of the most comfortable grip profiles I have ever built into a knife.

Handle is Carbon fiber from blacksite.com... Tyson is great to work with. Held on with SS screws and stand offs.

OAL is 12 1/8, and cutting edge is 5 7/8. Stock is 3/16.

Steel is 1095 heat treated, cryogenically treated, and tested to guaranteed Rc of 58-59 by Peters of Meadville, PA.

This is a prototype... I am trying to put a batch together that will be available by mid December. Probably in A2, any steel requests are appreciated.

Also, I don't have a name for it yet, but, this knife will definitely be a model I will carry!

Recurve knife comes with kydex sheath.

BEAUTIFUL! absolutely gorgeous -

S30V would be great :D

any chance for a small thumb ramp on the top, just in front of the handle might compliment the choil - just a wild thought on my part...I ain't no designer...

Both are possibilties Venice! Thanks for the comments!

Love it. Prefer green or black micarta for handles. Hopefully have some funds when the next batch is ready.

Thats A really nice quality product. I don't know if you already use it but Anaconda would be a good name for that on:D. Do you ever use anykind of stainless?

Hey Brent,

Thanks so much for the comments. I have used 154CM and ATS34 heavily in the past. I am not against other type of steel.

Also, Thanks for the name suggestion, this one has me drawing a blank.

Great work John!

Your new designs are really showing your range as a knife maker, they look great and VERY well built.
I would like to see this in 154CM, my MPX performs beautifully. However, A2 has never let me down.
Would this fit into a Spec-ops combat master?

Alex

Your knives always amaze me. Always such clean lines. I have yet to see one of your knives that I don't like.

Hey Alex, thanks! I appreciate the kind words. Those are the two steels I was thinking about for this run.

I don't have any spec ops sheaths in house currently, but, it should work... however the blae choil will stick out, that may make it tough to snap and lock in place.

MLarosn, thanks for the kind words!

Hey John, great stuff +1 on 154CM or S30V. I finished sharpening my Snake Bull just before logging on and was thinking that another with a longer blade would be nice.

Keep up the great work!

Ben

I lurk and look here mostly, never felt the need to comment on most, but this one has me searching for something to sell for some quick cash! THAT is just a great design, really, a beautiful job! Mark.

You have to stop making such amazing stuff...pretty soon I,ll have to put a sail on the Subaru. Steel is a much better investment than gasoline.

John, the design is beautiful and utilitarian. You seem very open to constructive criticism, so I'll give you my 2 cents...
Many knives I've used with a forward choil are comfortable except for the fact that they lack rounded ergonomics on the edges of the ricasso. Perhaps you could extend the handle slabs past the guard and contour them so that the forward grip allows for an ergonomic hold. Very few makers do this, and I don't know why...other than the fact that it makes the construction more time consuming and challenging. I think the extra work is worth the effort. Cold, tired hands gripping unbroken tooling edges are an accident waiting to happen. In the backcountry, that could be disastrous.
Also, perhaps consider some spine gimping for a thumbrest and firesteel, and a rounding of the spine, sebenza-style, to aid in draw-cutting and batoning.
Having said all that, I appreciate your open-ness in prototyping on this forum, and look forward to giving you some of my money for a custom!
Cheers!

By the way, here's one more cent's worth.
I like the sharp point left on the kydex. It makes for an effective defensive weapon even before an assailant grabs onto it and pulls it off the knife in a struggle...
Sharpened kydex is often overlooked as a tool.

Hi,

the knife is very nice.

I will take one - once the batch is ready in December (of course if you consider shipping overseas).

The ideas in the posts above are all worthwhile. Although it will be more time consuming to finish the knife, but I believe the result will be well worth it and I am willing to pay the extra time.

I would prefer to have premium steels s30v (as mentioned above) or s90v and maybe a bit more grip for the handle (machined perhaps)

in case of any questions please mail me: nedavno1@yahoo.com

Thank you,
