You're welcome. Looking forward to this one. Ethan, any idea what the overall weight of this is? Just curious.

I am stoked about this. I will be buying one. Have been saving my pennies, and will be prepared. Wonder what steel? 1095CV as usual? D2? I'd kill for a 3V version...

Well, I guess that this one will go on the wish list as well. By the time I'm done, yea right, I should have at least one or two of all of them. Time to get a second job I guess. :)

Here is my early version...

I sold Moose one just like that. I think that one is carbon steel. Here's my user...

On a side note, it's fairly amazing to me how many of my knife pics turn up in Google Image searches.

Cool, Joe, I have both those, although one correction, your last pic is not the "Combat" model, it is the standard matte finish model, made by Blackjack / BK&T as you say, and I got mine direct from Blackjack back in the day; not sure if BK&T was selling them as well or just going through Mike Stewart at the Effingham plant.

The Blackjack / Seki City "bad to the bone" full-polish heavier model you show was marketed as the Reinhardt "Combat" kukri in 1994, and came with an upgraded quick-deploy leather sheath over the standard Reinhardt BK&T, which is slower to get out of the sheath. Blackjack offered both the Blackjack/BK&T Reinhardt and the Blackjack Reinhardt Combat back then. When Blackjack was going out of business I wrote to them and scored the upgraded quick-deploy combat sheath for the standard BK&T as well, and it fits perfectly. That naming information is reflected on the original boxes as I recall.

Of all the kukris I have and have used the standard BK&T is one of the lightest and strongest and sharpest, and certainly one of the fastest. The new Blackjack knives Ken Warner kukri is a close second, but doesn't have quite the same great natural feel to it.

Specs on both:

Blackjack / BK&T Reinhardt: 18.5" OAL and 17 oz.
Blackjack / Reinhardt Combat: 18.5" OAL and 22 oz.

The BK&T has been used a bit, but the original Reinhardt Combat is still NIB after 20 years I'm happy to say. ;) The nice thing about the standard BK&T is that great finish; even after beating hell out of it just a quick oil and scotch-brite polish makes it look like new.
