New Skylines!

They shipped mine yesterday. Was gonna order another when I got off work a few hours ago. At least I got one this time.
 
just perfect, i plan to order today, now it is sold out. but on the bright side, more knives from kershaw guy
 
yeah I missed a chance on a second one, I wanted to franken one with a black blade. :grumpy:

Should probably decide now whether to get into that frenzy or not. Damascus is not a superior steel, it's just pretty and a reminder of what was once a top grade steel that no one knows how to make any more. I'm just not that interested, although I do like the visual effect of interference patterning so could probably be seduced.
 
Well, you people are just trying to fit it into the specs that you personally value. With these Skylines, it's about having collectible pieces. If someone values a collectible that much, that's their business. I don't know why you're all so quick to scoff at it.

You're right. It's just my personal opinion that I wouldn't spend that much money on that particular knife. It is worth whatever someone is willing to pay for it. After all it is their money. I'm sure we all have a few things we want that we would be willing to spend an amount on that would make others go "that's just stupid".

I agree with everything you've said. I don't object to anyone wanting to collect every variation of a knife; if that rubs your rhubarb, so to speak, go for it. It just stings a bit for me that someone would be willing to pay a premium for something that's so similar to another item (and in one way, arguably inferior) all in the name of bearing a different blade stamp. That I can't understand. The "fool and his money" remark obviously reflects my own opinion to some extent, but it's meant purely in jest. That's why I winked and apologized for any hard feelings.

Collect away, but please permit me to feel like those of you paying out the nose for variants are just a little unstable. :p

Already modded my red Skyline. Love it! I always carry Tip-Up, and the way the original clip was designed and place made it stick up too much :)
