New Skylines!

I have said it before, and I will say it again; Sticktodrum, you rock! What a wonderful thing to do for a fellow member!

And I don't think that the blue diminishes how special the BFC is; it's just another special Skyline! It's like my Frankensk'lines, just because I put them together doesn't make them less special!

I though the same at first, but the serial number, grind and steel make it very different to the trained eye. If there were only the 65 I am fine with it because its such a small run that it doesnt make much of a difference (that would make 565 blues altogether even though they are different). If on the other hand they turned it into a full on new production piece I would be pretty sore about it. I would probably sell off the bfc if that were the case, when I get it.

I've got way too much not-knives. I need to get rid of some of this not-knives stuff to make room for knives. :D

Got my red today, very odd problem. It would NOT open, at all, even with the pivot screw out. Not looser, but completly out. Took it apart, seemed like nothing was wrong. wiped everything off, put on tuffglide, reassembled, and it seemed ok. Flips out very nicely once, then goes back to needing wrist action the next two times.

The detent hole seemed enormous, it was very odd. I don't have a camera at the moment, or else I would put up pics. But it was much much larger than the detent ball itself. If anyone else has the problem, take a pic and let me know.

Overall I'm happy, (now that I reassembled) but its the strangest skyline I own.
 
Mine have made it to my liaison (bad_juju), and he's provided pictures of my babies. It won't be long now until they're all mine...

The postman was nice enough to drop off my red today :) Now we just need yellow, green and purple

And while my blue is still a couple days out he was good enough to also drop off a couple other blue pointy things to tide me over. (as well as my long anticipated cuscodi CF scales for my M4 grip)

I ordered the red one. Will be my first Skyline, and I really like the stonewashed look. What I really want is a turquoise G10 handle with a stonewashed S30V blade. That's what I really want, Santa. (Hint hint.)
 
Mine are at the post office four miles away. Would have been delivered today, but I had to have them shipped to the work address. The bed is more comfortable than the sofa that I would be sleeping on if they were to be delivered to the house. It's all good though. I now have a reason to look forward to going to work Monday morning.

I'm just finding out about these for the first time right now, but I just thought of something funny: despite the s30v of the BFC version, this blue model is a much more limited run. I imagine it has the potential to be more sought-after to Skyline collectors, sometime down the line. Kinda cool, actually.
 
There's a three inch limit in DC but I don't know how rigorous and a 3.125 might be close enough. And this design actually looks a little like a pen knife.

Kind of how I think about it; the BFC is still VERY special, but these blues being part of a run of only 65 (?) makes them very special in their own right.
 
Dang now their sold out of the blue. I had no idea it was a limited run. Should have jumped on it then.
