New Skylines!

Well, it's still not S30v. Looks like kershaw liked the blue and ran with it. I'm happy with my DLC coyote skyline, so unless they change up the steel, I'm not buying another one.

Why S30V? Based on a couple of threads I've read here, it's the dregs.

Got my red Skyline yesterday:

I just received my 1760 RDSW. Can't seem to center the blade, not even if I tighten down the pivot until I can't move the blade. Also, looking at it open from the top the space on the right (with the liner lock) is about twice as wide as the space on the left (with just the G10). Is there some trick to getting it centered?

Yes, there's a trick. Use a piece of paper to push the blade over to the side you want, while the screws are loose, and then slowly tighten them from butt to pivot. Just tighten the pivot to normal tightness for operation.

Doesn't work. Ends up the same place I started.

It's not too bad, in the sense that there aren't hourglass posts that could damage the blade (I don't think). But it won't center.

Update: I always wondered why that trick worked. I think it works with some knives that have multiple bushings because they can slide relative to each other and at least one stays put. But the Skyline has just one brass bushing per side and if it's off it just stays off no matter how you ripple the cinch. Also, it only has two in the rear so there's not enough slack/play to make up for the off-center.

Newbie here...desperately looking for a blue Skyline. Anyone have one they're willing to part with ?

Wow, that's nuts. I wonder if someone just really wants blue G10 or if they have to have that model number.

They're talking about the special Forum Skyline, not the Sandvik one that started this thread I'm sure. It started at $90+ so it's not totally crazy that there's a bid as high as $150. I think it's the *only* S30V Skyline ever produced, so it's more about the blade material than the color. Imagine if they made one in Elmax! You could probably trade it for a ZT300!
