New small fixed blade for outdoors use

I have the Alpha Wolf Drop Point Hunter D2 - Suregrip by Knives of Alaska. It is a handy little knife in D2 steel, USA made, and just around $ 60+.

I have the bush camp knife and i love it

Have you looked at the bark river psk in 154cm or their bravo necker? Both have handle scales of different types and you can run skeleton style on the bravo necker if you ever decide to. Or try the nemesis arch ally or 2 zero. And I am fond of the new Boker Fitz. Will be picking one up shortly!

In your price range...

Cold Steel Pendleton hunter. The mini is too small Imo. Get the regular one. Very under-rated knife and the closest thing to an F1 without the higher cost.

VG-1 holds a great edge, easy to sharpen and the hollow grind is no problem. A thick spine so it doesn't bend , no rust problems and a decent sheath. I've used mine to cut heads off fish , make feathersticks , minor batonning , food prep, etc, etc. Nice small knife that can do a lot.No scales to buy , no sheath to mod ; just buy and go.

I think it's a great knife at it's price point. I paid $65 for mine but it's probably cheaper in the US.

I got one of these and I love it!

does the knife still fits into the sheath with the aftermarket micarta handles?

Ya, I could be processing wood, that's where the full tang thing came...and for looks, too.
I will check Anza knives (never seen one!)
Ya I'm getting more and more attracted to the small Boker's...Especially these:

but again I have to deal with the budget so I might turn towards these ones:

The benchmade Activator seems like a good choice too.

Got the Mini Pry Bar a few days ago because of this thread. What a cool little deal. Though I find my German made sheath a little lacking as the rivets are cracked and there is no real *snap* when the knife goes in. It holds well, but the *snap* sound gives you the confidence you need to know it will not be going anywhere.
