Well guys, I want to know - is it  or is it :barf: ?

Give me some feedback

Spark, The new software in nice, very cool. I'm not thrilled with the e-mail set up. I liked going directly from user to user and not by way of the forum site. But all in all real nice!

I agree with Al. I preferred to be able to see someone's email address rather than a link. Otherwise it's pretty cool. I'm having a lot of fun just figuring it out..

I've been gone for a month or two (discharged from the USN and looking for work) and I came back today to find this. All in all though it seems pretty good so far.

I love the new format. I think it is even better looking than the old one. I also like the different buttons that work for tags you would otherwise have to type out. Did a great job Spark. Keep it up

Chris.

21.43% of those polled are enthusiastic little nippers, aren't they?

Spark,

Well, I can’t see you going back, but...
It loads too slow for me. I could get used to that, but I am not fond of all the specific categories in the sale and trade forums. It used to be I could scroll through the ”For Sale” forums and maybe stumble across something I didn’t even know I needed, but was a fantastic find. Now, well - I already spend too much time online and this just adds to the time - and when pressed for time, I’ll NOT open one of the specific categories and NOT find that fantastic deal. I don’t need this many choices.

The format is attractive. I’m sure members will love the bells and whistles. Not being enamored of emoticons (writers generally don’t like them, I imagine) I’m not impressed by ever-expanding choices of smiley faces.

For what it’s worth, you’ve given me way more choices than I need.

I appreciate the efforts, of course.

I Could get used to it.;)

Good thing my knives are sharper then my spelling.

I like it :) :) i have to agree with the mailing it needs to be changed made simpler but this is way better and a lot smoother the the one you tried a few months ago

Kevin...This is outstanding! A major upgrade!

Then, I'm the guy who has to have the newest, bestest, easiest, feature rich software available. I usually get the major software upgrades the day they come out (Windows, Office, etc.).

I like the ease of use of font colors and image/url hyperlinks.

Way to go Kevin. Forget the $100/year fee...I'll give you my wife! ;)

I like it so far, with a couple exceptions:

I cannot get my avatar to upload, due to it's size. I have tried to modify it, and I still keep getting either it's too large(pixels), or its file size is too large.

Any pointers on getting it resized so it will work?

I also don't like the e mail redirect, but I can live with it.

Overall, I think I like it. But a couple things bug me. Maybe they're just early bugs that will work out. One thing that is definitely different, that I do not like is the fact that if you are writing a reply, and go back to check an earlier post in the thread, you lose what you've written when you go back using the forward arrow. For someone with as poor a memory as I, and not wanting to use quotes, that is an aggravating loss. I have to save everything before I can back out.

I'm having a hell of a time with the icons that tell whether I've viewed a post or not. In one forum that I'd not visited in at least 2 weeks, every message showed as old. In other forums, threads I have read are showing as new. Particularly for when someone has been away from a particular forum for awhile, this is quite aggravating. Again, my poor memory only makes it worse.

One thing I am not understanding at all is the threads with the downpointing arrrow. Am not sure if it is a message icon not listed, or something different. Know for sure I don't know what it means, and don't know where to look to learn.

One feature that I really like, if it works -- haven't checked yet -- is where one can have replies to your replies answered. For those occasions where one asks questions without beginning a new thread, it could be great!

If you are using Internet Explorer then you should be able to right click on the "post reply" button and select "open in a new window". This will start another instance of IE and allow you to switch between the two windows to refer to the previous messages.

If you forget to do that the click on "File" - "New" and select "Wndow" this will open another window and you can click the back button in that one while leaving your post window open.

Hope that helps..

CODE3 If you'd like to e-mail me your Avatar I'd be happy to size it for you and e-mail it back. The easiest way would be to use a graphic editor (Like Photoshop) that will allow you to resize based on pixels.

Spark Maybe I need to update my browser or I missed the posts on it but I can't use the buddy list, is this a soon to be released feature?

Otherwise it rocks:D

I like the new software.

As with any upgrade/new software you have bugs that will be worked out or around. I appreciate your efforts. I started playing with these things in 65 so I have some idea about the time and effort. I look forward to upgrading my membership and can’t believe I am so anxious to send money your way without a knife in return.

It does indeed load slow. The bells and whistles will take some time to learn (at least for me) and email is not as good as the former.
