As fantastic as that looks, I think the first thing I will do is rough sand that G-10...then I will not have to fear putting the first scratch on it in the field ;)

I would need to make it have more traction as well. Other than that, looks fine.

Very pretty. Doesn't look like they've changed the ugly sheath though. New G10 scales would give the opportunity to replace it with a tactical bushcraft kydex one!

Oh wow!

The handle is reminiscent to the Street Beat one, very very nice. ;D Definitely snagging this bad boy up!

Thanks for the heads up :)

I'm considering buying this knife it looks very nice with G-10 handles. The unstable wood handle was the only thing that kept me from buying the first one. The sheath looks awful so I think I have to get someone to make a custom sheath.

Glad they brought it back. Really a great knife, with the most comfortable handle I've ever seen on a factory knife. Luckily the glue filled cracks on mine are holding up because I enjoy using the knife quite a bit.

Is there a way to make it fully convexed instead of scandi?

The one I have already has a slight convex to it with the highest part being the center of the scandi grind.

I've heard other people say the same so if you regularly sharpened it using an adjustable strop or soft mouse pad and just put a slight bit more pressure on the bevel toward the edge you'd end up with a fairly convex edge.

Looks like a damn fine knife,I just wish it was made in Colorado,by Americans.
01 & G-10 are great, sure,but TAIWAN????
There are too many good makers on these boards to be supporting a company that is so greedy they have to go off shore to get thier knives made!!!

+1

The handle on my factory 2nd is the most comfortable handle that I have.

That's a deal breaker for me. Good looking knife though

100% agree

Nice design but Let 'em sell 'em in the peoples republic of china.Funny how I can buy all the products I want from them but I can't buy a Cuban cigar or an airline ticket to buy one myself.

Sorry,I thought Taiwan was under the British blanket and then turned over to the peoples republic of china in the early 2000s due to a treaty.I didn't realize it maintained it's own govt.I've seen goods with"Taiwan ROC" on them and thought it had been become part of China.I don't have much time to spend on geo political issues so somehow I missed a change somewhere.
I have nothing against the Chinese people.Just unfair trade,Formeldahide in drywall ,poison in baby formula and lead/cadmium in toys. All real facts,All from the same place and part of the reason it costs less to make things there.
I still appreciate the blade shape and though it looks "sharp" this way the handle definately looks slippery to the point of being scary but that would be easily remedied.I'm not trying to offend the supporters but I will stand on my Pinciples and not buy one.

It does look pretty good. Taiwan is actually a pretty decent country for manufacturers...sure it's not made in the USA, but Spyderco is in the business to make a profit and if they can't make them stateside for a reasonable cost (blame our taxes and laws, not the manufacturer) as it would be too cost prohibitive to make, they wouldn't be able to offer it. I'm torn on the whole "made in the USA" issue...our taxes and regulations continue to push product manufacturing overseas; I don't blame Spyderco for that decision, I blame the law makers. If I do find a good deal, I wouldn't mind giving one a try...kudos to Spyderco for bringing it back with G10 handles after the wood-handle issue. There are a bunch of excellent makers on Bladeforums and that would be my first choice and recommendation, but the Spyderco Bushcraft will be more widely available...it may even be a "gate-way" knife to enter the custom world for some:thumbup:

I would venture that the MSRP is mighty high, and they will likely sell high initially. A bit later they should be more affordable.

MSRP is $279.95

But I'm sure you can find it a lot cheaper online already.
