NEW STUFF and Possibilities

I'm just glad that I didn't win the auction on ebay for the one that sold for $180 this week.

funny how that works when things are reintroduced...

before KaBar reintroduced the BK11 Neckers... i saw the Camillus models selling for 100-125 a pop - used... and now, well, they aren't. heh.

some MachAx have sold for silly amount of money. same for the Brutes - very very silly...

it wouldn't surprise me that a lot of Camillus era Magnum Camps will hit the Exchange/ePray soon for reasonable monies...

comes and goes. cycles.

Magnum Camp = EXCELLLENT

I was using my Camillus BK5 today to prep dinner just for the fun of it. Was slicing coke cans yesterday too :)

Will pick up one or maybe two - I've handled LOTS of knives as I was a part time dealer, and the Magnum Camp didn't really impress me until I went out and did some outdoors work and food prep with it.

It's a real "all rounder" without falling into the the rediculous .25" + thick grind / thick edge sharpened crow bars that are the tactical rage...

Let me ask again, what kind of sheath is the new Magnum Camp coming with?
The one I've got, just like all the camillus magnums (IIRC), came with a great kydex (or some sort of plastic sheath). The thing I love most about it, is the fact that you can insert the knife in any direction. Very handy when you're keeping your eyes elsewhere. My sheath has served me well, and is actually my favourite knife sheath.

Hey Everybody....

First a word on the BK11 NECKER handle slabs......Very good news from Tooge....The Vendor has the material in house, at long last, and will be running the parts next week or the week after Christmas....Soooo Soon come.....Sorry it took so long but it took several protos to get it right...

And NOW the BIG NEWS.........
Today the Brown Santa Claus brought a production prototpe of the BK5 MAGNUM CAMP and it IS SO SWEET.......Those of you who have been eagerly anticipating the great (and ever so wonderful) Jerry Fisk's classic camp knife are gonna love this one......This is a graceful and beautifully balanced piece..... It FEELS graceful and it is VERY fast in the hand....This speed is almost a Fisk trademark and damned difficult to get right....The grinds are beautifully done.......It arrived too late to take it to the woods this evening, but the anticipation IS building for the morrow......A little rope, a sapling or two, maybe a coke can, and of course an onion or three......GOOD TIMES coming for certain.........

All Best....

Ethan,

I read somewhere that you aren't planning on bringing back the Brute because you feel the BK9 is a better knife in that size; is that true? Just wondering if a return of the BK1 might be one of the possibilities :)

Thanks,
Russell

Haha, ok. We really do need a FAQ for this one. Oh well, was worth a shot right?

quite a few people asking in multiple threads over the months. the answer really isn't going change, afaik. i'm sad too, but there we are.

really going to have to make that FAQ soon :)

Yeah, I've been in a few "bring back the Brute" threads, but I've never heard anything official from Ethan until now.

they're probably also not bringing back the BK8 :)

nor the BK77 extreme once they run out of the old-new stock - gone forever once they're gone gone gone. buy now :)

somehow, i'm guessing, that the Magnum Camp is going to do very well :>

First off. This post is worthless without pictures....LoL
Second the pivotal test will be when The Wife(Wyan) gets her hands on one..
I really need to find a replacement for her unmentioned kitchen knife(from the UP)
So I hope you will have a dozen or so at PWYP ??????? I will need to pick up at least 2 maybe more. I know I can sell at least 5 for you..
Be Safe and have a Merry Christmas. Landy

Hey Revolver......

I will probably NEVER be able to sell Ka-Bar on that project!!!!!!.....The investment in steel alone would be astronomical.....There would have to be strong demand indeed.....I love the 77 but I am really not sure that one 77 is worth three sevens and a couple of NECKERs ......

Mind a 77 is going to be one rare bird to own and is probably a good investment......

All Best.......
