"GK" would be 7/11. You just count the letter space. A is 1, B is 2, C is 3, etc....

There's mine. Not sure on the date yet. It looks like my screws are also recessed into the G10, but they're black instead of silver. My blade is DLC, is yours also or is it silver? The screw coloration might match the blade coloration.
 
I don't know when my gray para was made but I can see where the G10 was countersunk. The screw isn't far below the surface of the G10 but it is a little bit. It may just be a function of how much the cutting tool is worn. A new tool may be countersunk a little more, and a worn one a little less.
 
That's my thread over on the Spyderco forum, and I have an email sent out to customer service about it. I don't think it's an issue per se maybe a tooling thing. When I get more info I'll post it here.
 
Mine is from June 2011 and the screws are flush with the scales.

Quite the opposite - I have been on your side of having lots of Paras all along. I got 3 old Paras and 2 para2s myself

Must be a transatlantic humour thing

I just ordered a Para 2 with digital scales. Should be here by the weekend. I'll take a look and post a photo of mine when it arrives.
 
Didn't have time to snap a photo yet, but my screws are counter sunk.
