Ok, servers are pretty much functional at this point, and now that sphinx is up and running, it's going to be time for new subforums.

On deck: Photography, and Kitchen Cutlery... as well as a couple new manufacturer subforums.

What other suggestions do you have?

I've got a lot of ideas for the sheath forum, but I cant arrange them, can I beg for some abilities to git er done? :o I'd dearly love to be able to moderate that area. :)

Watch and Flashlights are pretty popular!
And how about a Spyderco for sale forum...there are ALOT of those up for sale, and I know nothing about them:D

A subforum dedicated to cooking is out of the question, is it? *puppy eyes* :p
From what i've seen, there seems to regularly pop up threads in W&SS that details more cooking, than outdoors activites. Now, many of these threads do have an aspect of outdoorsy stuff aswell, but i wouldn't mind seeing them in its own subforum. (And from my suggestion-thread in here, i'm not alone in wanting to see a cooking subforum.)

I do understand that this is BLADEforums.com, so i won't hold it against ya if it doesn't happen.

In my mind, this is the least cluttered, most informative and best run forum when it comes to blades. So.. Keep up the good work?

a sort of HI cantina for the ESEE forum, just an idea :) thanks for asking!
and i second the firearm forum :D

I do enjoy firearms, but I would hate if they "took over" the forum. I don't see that necessarily happening, just putting that out there. (Because we all know guns can be just as addicting as knives haha )

Seconded, if this is being considered. It really wouldn't hurt to have a sheath forum mod to move stuff that doesn't belong there and set some ground rules on what does belong. There's been some bickering on the subject and having someone there to help with an official moniker would be nice. So, if we can have a mod over there, I don't think you're gonna find a better one than the old buzzard above.

Spydercos for sale would be a nice subforum. Someone had suggested a forum for posting hunting pics. Cooking and Kitchen knives would get a lot of traffic too.

I have to agree with this, I would like to see a cooking sub fourm, an the hunting fourm sounds nice to maybe something like hunting fishing an butchering all in one.

Easily solved by only having one generic "firearm" forum as opposed to say a 1911 forum, a Glock forum, a Les Baer forum, etc.

I just hope we get one.

In general, it is best to start off with broad-topic forums and see if there's enough interest and how to best divide it if that is necessary.

Guns, for example: it's probably best to start with just a "Firearms" forum and see how it goes. If there's enough interest and if we can start to see some natural divisions, then we can get some even-more-specific forums.

discussion of Blade and handle related materials, alternatives materials forging methods that type of thing.

I am sure that a kitchen cutlery/cooking forum would get a lot of traffic as well as a hunting/fishing forum. There are a million and one possible sub forums in both of those. I would be a regular visitor to a cooking, fishing and hunting forum even though I don't hunt. I think they may even pull in more members.

sheath making sounds like a great idea fior a subforum.

Firearms? I'm highly active on 2 rifle forums and a bullet casting forum, and have memberships on a half dozen handgun and general firearm forums. Each of them has a whole passel of subforums. I wouldn't object to a gun forum here, but there's no shortage as it is...
