You guys see the new Surefire lights? Seems to be nice basic and affordable offerings

I have a G2L, with tail clicky, as my bedside light. The G2X Pro and 6PX Pro are looking pretty nice to me...maybe I'll gift my current G2 to a friend :D

I wonder why the G2X Pro is rated only for 1.5 hours at 200 lumens.

Looks like it was a typo after all, here are the newest ads:

Wow....thats a great deal on Surfires

I wonder why they are so cheap? Are they still made in the USA?

Probably because that's a Surefire rating. Under rated lumen output with a very conservative battery rating.

If they aren't I will thank my stars I have a few that are and won't buy any more. I can't think of a worse business decision for Surefire then to move production out of USA.

Right, that I know, but what got me is why the other three are rated for 200 lumens for 2.5 hours while the G2X Pro is only rated for 1.5 hours at the same lumens.

I hadn't noticed the other ratings, that is odd. I'll send them an email about that.

well i am happy to see a high performance surefire at this price point. i have been toying around the idea of upgrading my current EDC light, fenix L2T, and i think the 6Px pro will be a good replacement :D

They look like great lights that a working guy can afford to own, I hope they are made in the USA as well.

It is most likely due to the type of regulation used to get the multiple modes. My guess is the G2X Pro is PWM and holds constant brightness throughout the 1.5 hours, while the others are dirrect drive or current regulated and will decrease in brightness over the 2.5 hour runtime.

Never heard of them using anything else except for the SAINT which can take AA's along with CR123's.

They have an E2L AA model (80 lumens high, 3 low). Unfortunately, at $165 it is slightly more expensive than these models.

Cool

Yeah, I thought it has to come down to something like that. Interesting that it wouldn't be the same case with the 6P though.

As an aside---sounds like they're bringin in something big tonight---there's an airshow all weekend here---Thunderbirds ect--can't wait to see the F-22 in action.

Live about 2 miles from the runway--up a hill---can see the whole thing from my back deck----the house rumbling freaks the cat out though.

the dual stage tail cap switch is great.

i have the lx2, and it is very simple to use. under stress when you are likely to depress fully, you will get the high output.

I would agree, my LX2 is my EDC light unless I'm really dressing up, then it's my E1B. I prefer the stage caps to click ones.

I would love to try an LX2 one of these days. Right now I EDC an E2DL, and it's a superb light, but the UI on the LX2 sounds interesting. I wonder if I'd like it better than the cycling tail-clicky of the E2D. I do like the less aggressive appearance as well.
