New Surefires - lookin good

i think of the cycling type of outputs as novelties, and the staged or dialed outputs as useful.

when i want or need a specific output level, it should be easy to accomplish, whether with the two stage caps or the dials on the u2 or titan.

Well, as far as cycling lights go, the E2D is pretty simple. Click once, and you get high, click off and on again gives you low. I like that it starts on high, because for me, if I'm using the E2DL vs. the light on my keychain, it's because I want to really light something up. And in a stressful situation, with one click, you're on high and the light stays on without you having to use your free hand to twist it. If I'm wanting to use the low level, I'm probably not in a rush or otherwise stressed, so it's no big deal for me to click off and click on again. And if I want to be sneaky, then I'll click high with the bezel pressed into my thigh, and click again for low.

But I do like the LX2 UI. The ability to start low and go seamlessly to high with more pressure (as you've pointed out, natural in a stressful situation) is really nice. I'm just not so keen on having to twist it for constant on. I won't really know until I actually get to use one though.

Oh I gotta get one of the 6PX Pros. Ever since my buddy picked up a LX2 I've wanted a dual output light. That 6PX Pro will be mine.

Woah...didn't expect to see this.

My E1B is rockin' my EDC right now, but I may have to get one of these just for the heck of it.:p

it says on the ad that they ship october 1st. hopefully october of this year

The date should be reliable, or at least close to it. They have been telling us dealers that they will ship then, which is not something they usually do.

man that's a good deal, hope there made here!!!! if not I'll keep the three that I already have.........

Good to hear , they look like decent lights for the money.

I am thinking the G2X tactical might be a nice light to put on my AK. I have a tan G2 and it is nice but the lower power and shorter run time make it a less attractive offer than the G2X tactical.

This statement, along with the design departure make me think these are going to be overseas manufacture.

I will try to give them a call tomorrow and see what is up.

If they aren't USA made I will be seriously disappointed.

AFAIK and what I read from good sources, surefire is 110% USA made and I have no doubt these are too..

The different runtime ratings will relate to the thermal regulation of the plastic body model. They don't want it getting too hot and burning out.

Those lights look good. I still think that a lot of the foreign-made flashlights are
"better" though. For the same price you can get brighter lights with more brightness modes. They also add new models to the line-up as LED technology changes. My Four7s and Fenix lights have also proved to be no less reliable or durable than the SF lights I have owned.
