Hey guys I am new to blade forums. I collect case knifes. I have a small collection so far.

I am starting to branch out to collect other types of tactical knifes and such.

I just wanted to put myself out there and say hello.

Hey welcome to the forums! Check out the traditional knife subforum, in the knife specific area. It's the place to be to show your Cases, and a very welcoming and nice group of people.
What's your favorite knife you have at the moment? I think mine is my Camillus Jack, it's just quite a nice little package I find myself carrying a lot.

Thanks guys. I am new to collecting knifes really. My dad use to give me a case knife for Christmas every year. So that's how I have the small collection. I will post some pictures tonight of what I have so far in that department.

To get started what are some good cheaper knifes that are good for a starter collection? I love the tactical design but I am open to other models. What do you guys think?

Welcome aboard! There are tons of great sub forums and threads here. I learn something almost every day.

However, I second what Mr. Moniker said. The exchange can be very dangerous to your wallet.

What is cheap to you? Ontario just came out with the Bob Dozier Arrow that runs D2 steel with G10 scales. The price looks to be $40-45 and it strikes me as a fantastic piece for the money.

Even less expensive, you have the Spyderco Byrd line. Cara Cara 2 if you like a larger knife, Meadowlark if you want something smaller. I know, they look funny, but trust me, those knives just work.

Welcome to the forum. Be sure to visit the traditional knives subforum to discuss Case knives and other traditional knives.

The BEST values and best way to start out, because they really make you choose wisely, are a Mora fixed blade, in your choice of style, size, and steel. Absolutely wonderful fixed blade.
An opinel is an awesome folder, one of the best slicers areound.
Both are around $15, Mora made in sweden, Opinel made in France. I cannot recommend these enough especially to a beginning collector, as they really make you think if buying an expensive knife is worth it. Im not afraid to use these knives to their limits, and they don't ever disappoint.

I tried tactical knives, Delicas and stuff, and ended up giving them away. I can carry my big Mora, that is ready faster than any spring assisted knife, and not scare anyone when I pull it out whereas I got looks all the time with my Delica.

Welcome Llama. Look at Mora/Hultafors/Martinni fixed blades, Opinel folders and Victorinox Alox folders for great bargain knives to expand your collection.

I would never be ashamed of carrying a delica! Amazing knife if size was the measure of a threat lvl ppl would only have 45's and wars would only be fought with nukes lol

What do you guys think of ...
Stay away I've handled similar flea market and gun show specials and can say they are of low quality. Find yourself a kabar dosier, Ontario rat or utilitac. Or one of the many other budget blades that are approved by people on this forum. Welcome and thumbs up for case knives and cv steel
