New To Folders, Help Me Pick A Kershaw for EDC

I have had all but the knockout. They all have great action and perform about the same steel wise since they have the same steel (different thicknesses though). The clash fires nice and hard. It really depends on the size you want. The chill is a very lightweight flipper which I enjoy, but as far as a work knife goes I would go with the volt or Clash. I used the volt ii at a Christmas Tree Farm this year which I worked at for about 2 months and it worked very well. I have come to use it as a nice beater knife that holds up.

Well this is a tough one, because one must consider that picking a knife for the self is something that has to come from deep down inside, and really is to the 'eye of the beholder.' One really should listen to opinions for informed decisions, but in the end the EDC has to be the choice of the self. Each knife you have mentioned has their own benefits, but in the end, what is the one that you are going to be happy with. Personally I would feel out each one and see what you think in the end.

Tallahassee I am glad you found your knives! I would like to suggest you pick up the Volt II straight edge and, if you need a 3" straight blade, the Kershaw "Needs Work". I have both, along with the half serrated Volt II, because I cut a lot of boxes, twine, small rope and wire. As a helicopter mechanic I also use them for stripping wire and opening oil cans. These knives are all less than 40.00 and perform very well. So much so that I have set aside my higher priced Benchmade and Spyderco knives in favor of them, thinking that I would use up these less expensive knives and save some money. Little did I know that I would not just save money, but basically stop buying knives for work at all. :) These Kershaws remind me of my first car, a Datsun pickup my Dad gave me. You just can't kill it. Due to proper care, I still have that truck, and I have no doubts that 20 years from now I will still have all 3 of my Kershaws.

Shipping address sent to Morrow via PM. Thanks again.
I'll update this thread with a review of the Knockout when it arrives.

Life is good.

BTW I agree, there's no substitute for just handling a knife hands-on and you know in 10 seconds if it's for you.
None of the brick & mortar stores around have any of the Kershaws we're discussing. Hence this thread.
