New to old axes.. Help with ID/ places to start

OLY,
Oustanding job on that axe- and I could not agree more on the satisfaction of reviving a quality old tool :)

Thanks for the words of support! Can't wait to start working on my second full project! A small 2-1/4lb Collins (boys axe?) The only problem, is that the handle I ordered for it is a bit large in the eye.. about 1/4" long in the eye.. Would it be acceptable to shave down the handle to fit this axe? Or should I get a different handle?

I took a handle designed for a full eye down to a largish boys axe eye head but it is alot of work. Not just in the eye area but reducing from that point, through the shoulder down into the handle. It can be done and make a nice job but alot of work. Mine was a small Warren fireax and I really wanted it on a 32" handle.
