Traded my Skeletool off for a new blade...

What could it be?

Yep, a BK5:

Man, should have gotten one of these a long time ago. Very cool blade. Can't wait to use it.

Wow, thats still a roll stamped version?

Where did you buy it from if I can ask? And, if thats whats still in the supply chain, then it makes sense why we're seeing all of these discounts.

As a Becker "enthusiast", I keep seeing the low price, and thinking I should grab this (or the 4), but so far I can't figure what I'd use them for, which makes it really hard for me to justify the purchase. I see lots use their 5/15's in the kitchen, but honestly, I have much better kitchen knives already, so that use case won't work out. And my 9 just does so well at everything, its hard to justify anything else :/.

But congrats on the steel, looks like great fun :).

Yeah, it's a roll stamped. I traded my Leatherman Skeletool for it, from a forum member. I've always kind of wanted a 5, but pretty much feel the same way you do. I don't see many out in the woods, mostly in the kitchen. I'll definitely use it for outdoor use though. Wanna see what she can do, besides eat up a baton, haha.

Ah, getting it in a trade makes more sense then. Although I've heard people say they're still getting roll stamped ones new from some places, which was why I asked.

And good to know I'm not the only one that thinks like this :). I think I could use a BK5 as the "grill" knife, but right now I've been considering a 10-14in Old Hickory for that task (tri-tips and brisket are both larger and more frequently cooked around here, so the extra blade length would be handy). Anyway...

Get out and use it, maybe you'll convince me I need a 5 :).

I can see why Ethan says it's fast. Light and nimble in the hand.

Nice score Warrior well done mate, Not to detract, but I was lucky enough to score one as well.
