Today I figured I'd take a trail that I had not been on before, one that climbed above one I usually took and being higher I hoped it offered even better views !

The climb was brutal, it just went up and up and was all loose stuff, real ankle twisting material !!!

The higher I got the neater some of the moss and lichen became....

At last the top was in sight, this was gonna be some great view !!!

Damn !!! All I could see was more trees !!!!

The path went on but for me this was the end of the road, time for a drink of tea and a snack before heading back !!!!

Talking of snacks, I have found these Milk-Bones to be very nutritionally complete !!!

Maisy likes them as well....

These were the knives I carried today...

On the way back I came across this Fatwood and pried it apart with my DM and chopped some off to put in my pocket , try doing that with a Mora . Mind you I can't make spoons with my DM like you can with a Mora so I guess in a survival situation I would have to make do with my titanium spork !!!

We soon came back down to water and Maisy took a dip to cool off before returning to the parking lot !

Pitdog,

Great pics as always... I gotta ask, what kind of camera do you have?

Aweosm pics as usual! I love finding new trails. Not sure about the survival food though, but I bet your dog would fight you for it :D

Pit,

Thanks. I used to have a little vivitar 35mm years ago.. Anyway, cool pics!

You guys are kidding about eating milkbones right?

Petco used to (maybe still does) have a cream filled sandwich cookie, like an oreo but tan instead of brown. The sales lady said they were human grade so I gave it a try. Amazingly it was good. Almost like the real thing just not as sweet.

Yeah I've eaten those types of dog treats several times... they're usually not bad at all. Unless you get a low quality type and then they can be greasy. Otherwise, not bad!

You guys are weird! My dog finds them before I know I've brought them on walks!

Nice pics.

If you guys only knew what those things were made of. I work in a bulk animal food plant, with a pet food division.

Just dont eat them, ok?

great pics pit and maisy....:D that area is gorgeous this time of year.... well, i guess all year around...

Back in the day, a couple of my friends used to carry milkbones as their emergency food. They figured that they wouldn't just eat them as a snack, so they would be available if they really got stuck somewhere.

Better than eating banana slugs, I'm sure! :D
