NEW U.S.-made carbon steel Old Timer knives!?

OK, my bad.... I see that there is some kind of stuff called Schrade that is supposedly made in the U.S. so I owe you an apology. Nevertheless it seems to me you are chasing junk. Plenty of the good old stuff readily available.

If you like round bolsters you like round bolsters.
While I do prefer square bolsters on such frames because it's probably what I'm most used to I don't have anything against the round bolsters, I just don't like a knife I grew up with being improperly resurrected on the wrong frame.
To me it's like if Chevy were to bring back the S10 as a minivan or something.
Eewwwe! Minivan from an S10?
Although, no matter what they call the "New" version, those scales are so drastically different, I have a tough time relating that knife to the original. And... No brass liners?? What's up with that nonsense? I can't say I particularly dislike the scales. However, I can't say I particularly like them either.

I recently bought a B&S made queen bird and trout knife with bone covers in this color, and in person it looks like vomit.

Woah just checked em out. Love the bone covers. They look nice! Prices aren’t bad at all either for USA made.

I don't care for the "jigging", saw cut or whatever they call it. The scales seem pretty thick too.

That said it's good to have some US made knives at a reasonable cost.

I have the bruin, the scales are OK but definitely not what I think of when I hear sawcut

This thread is 4 yo...
Complete this saying:
Good tools aren't .....and
Cheap tools aren't ....

2025 Porch knives are......?

Here's a little article I wrote about one of the new Sharpfingers - https://levergunner.com/knives/a-new-old-timer-sharpfinger/

Nice.

I have a special place in my heart for the Sharpfinger. They were around when I was learning to appreciate knives, and we had a close family friend who wore a Sharpfinger "up front" and he was killed in an accident and the knife was eventually passed down to me.

While I won't be buying the off brand Sharpfinger, I usually buy every original one I bump into.

Now that you mention it, I always get a weird feeling seeing Ford Maverick's on the road. I grew up riding in the back of my older brother's Maverick and it definitely wasn't a pickup.
