New Vintage 112?

The edge seems to be stained and sealed. Too dark for my liking. I could do a test stain and seal on the belt loop portion. If i don’t like it or it sucks at least you will never see it?

Think that’s the ticket.

I just think distressed leather is a bit too fury for stain but what do i know.
I think You can expect the distressed leather to soak up more dye/stain, and as a consequence get quite a bit darker than full grain leather of similar color. That's just me guess. If you had some scraps you could try thinning the dye, and experment on the scraps till you got the color you wanted. I have no idea where you could get scraps of Buck's distressed leather. I think a light coat of the Neatsfoot oil TAH suggested will probably darken the leather about the amount you want.

O.B.

If you have a Red Wing dealer nearby, ask them if you can try a dab of this:

I wore a lot of Redwing boots in my 28 years of construction. They have great oil and other products that really protect the boots. When ever i could i would stop in and use their free boot oil station. I was addicted to the fragrance! Could make a cologne out of it!
