Must just be uising the rivot function from the 110-see the draft picture has 2 and I bet thats how they come.
 
Dang....I've been thinking of having a 110 made with S30V, NS and Sambar Stag. Looks like I waited too long for the NS part and I don't like the looks of it with the brass. It was going to be my Christmas present to me. :(

Oh well, I did pick up a few of the new web specials and I found a beautiful 124 today.

I remember this happened last year. It turned out that they were only temporarily out-of-stock of NS, so you may want to query Joe Houser to see if they'll be restocking NS. (By the way, I have NS S30V Sambar custom 110 and I love it. It's one of my EDCs.)
 
I ordered a couple 105 Rosies. At that price, couldn't resist. Thanks for the heads up

You're welcome but it was Stumps who made the discovery. Please post a few pics when you get those 105's. Depending on the color of the wood I might pop for one or two after Thanksgiving if they are still available.
 
Let me get this straight....it starts with some BCCI Club Member "perk" knives, then a new set of web specials followed by a custom shop goody. That's a bit underhanded preying on the weak like that, dontcha think? They know we can't resist. :D

I got at least one each of the build-outs and I think seven of the new web specials......I am soooooooo weak.

It's that time of year again. It was exactly a year ago that the web specials came out with the 154cm 110s among many other things. I think mid-November is the time to expect specials. It seems to be a yearly clearance of components and inventories to make room for new stuff. Not to mention the beginning of the holiday retail season.

You got yourself a deal! You come up with the 500's (I'd settle for a quarter million) and I'll come up with several NS Custom Shop 110's for you to choose from! ;)
 
Well, the Gen-5 didn't last long. It's been taken off the web specials already.
 
Is it just my imagination, or is the 105 web special trimmed out in brass? To be honest, I've never paid much attention to fixed bladed Bucks, I normally lust for the folders. If it is indeed brass, is that a fairly routine trim?

Buck catalogs a 102 and 119 with Cocobolo wood handle with brass fittings and of course the 105 in the Web Specials has brass fittings.
 
This being my first BladeForums post, I'll add a comment that this morning I ordered a CKS110 with; NS, S30V & Asian Waterbuffalo scales. Those options are still showing, so NS has apparently not been discontinued. I own a couple of older 110s; a 1993 "/" from new and recently a barely used 1995 "C" off ebay. I've been watching auctions for a nice NOS or NIB 110 series with NS bolsters, but decided to order one directly to my specs for not much more $$. At this point, I have no desire for custom "drawer queens" that are too pretty or too costly to use.

It seems to me as a forum newbie that Buck often changes custom order material choice specs? :confused:

Your correct. Just checked the website myself and it has a the 500 series or 110 as custom options and the nickle option is back under the 110 handle selection. Perhaps it had something to do with the change from the Alpha series to the 500 series, (something got messed up with the programming)? Other than the issue earlier this year or maybe last where they suspended the nickle option due to availability I haven't noticed any changes. IIRC some years back they offered BG-42 and maybe even damascus, (not sure on these but I think they did)? If so those have gone away but, at least as far as BG-42 that's the case with pretty much every manufacturer as I believe it's no longer made.

I just got done ordering a custom NS S30V with Sambar Stag 110 and was going to post here that the NS option is available again....but you guys beat me to it.

Anyways, my Christmas present to myself is taken care of. :)

The website says you can order a custom knife up to Nov 27th and still get it in time for Christmas.

Now I'm confused... Sambar Stag? I didn't/don't see that option, which would have been my 1st choice too. I thought getting genuine Sambar had become difficult in the US. Is there another special order page other than Shop -> Custom Knives?
