New Wilson Tactical-Reeve Collaboration

The knife is basically the same as the Umnumzaan except for the Wilson Starburst grip pattern. We developed the "Starburst" grip for our custom 1911 pistols and it has quickly become our #1 most popular pattern. It is non slip, yet snag free.

50 pieces are in our first run. They are non-serialized.

We are glad you guys like!

Am I right in that there won't ever be a left hand model of this knife?

Great looking knife but imo to be a true tactical, it should be available as left handed. :)

I just ordered mine - I've been back and forth on an Umnum for a year. It came down to this or the tanto, and I went with this one. I'm really looking forward to it - it will be my first Chris Reeve!

Also, how about some user pics?

I really like em. The color looks different too

i think that is the lighting in a couple of the pics. i thought the scales were black when i first saw it.

but looking at the other pics, it looks to be the same beadblast finish.

My knife just arrived. First impressions (as it is my first CRK): Heavier than I expected. Smooth as silk. Scary sharp out of the box. Perfect size for my hand. I love the grip (and yes I chose this one because it matches my sidearm). Fit and finish is impeccable. The lanyard is nice as well, although I think i will remove the bead and tie my own with some proper paracord. Or maybe I'll save it and use one of my Atwood beads. It came with a nice polishing cloth as well.

A couple things that weren't so clear in the pictures on the Wilson Combat site: The scales are not colored differently and the blade is not a different shape (it seems like the swedge near the tip is missing in some of the photos).

Does CRK make the knife pouch in black leather?

Yes they make black & brown pouches, The pouch fits large & small sebenza's. It has two snaps on it for large or small knife. The umnumzaan will fit in it, It works way better if you remove the pocket clip, Leave the lanyard on it and draw It from the pouch using the lanyard. I carry mine everyday in my Large Black CRK pouch. What's nice about using the CRK pouch over other brands is you can carry all 3 knifes in one pouch, Umnumzaan, Large Sebenza, & Small Sebenza..............

:D:D:D Rickster :D:D:D

Looks nice. And of course looks to have nice build quality. My one concern is only one screw holding the scales/handle and its liners together unless others are hidden under the titanium scales. I would prefer better ergonomics in the handle.

Overall opinion. I would'nt mind having one, but first I need a Chris Reeve small sebenza 21 "left hand version". And this knife I will assume not provide this feature.

Daniel and his opinion. Accounts recievable, .02 cents.

Another 50 for lefties please! :)

I agree with this person. Our kind are most always left out when it comes to a pure left handed version whith-out all kinds of holes in the scales. :grumpy: :barf:

I may be not remembering but I only see Chris building left hand versions of his sebenzas and spyderco offering a pure left hand version of its military/whatever knife. If there are others I would sure like to know where you find them. Again I am talking pure left hand versions not the ones with so many holes in the scales that it looks like brain coral.

Agreed, but this is an interesting variant. I appreciate that Wilson and CRK have kept the price reasonable, too often when you have collaborations like this there is a significant premium to be paid.

It always seems that people on this Forum have way better "play money" than I do expecially when I see someone say a $430.00 dollar knife is reasonable. I suppose reasonable compared to knives and colaborations of this type/quality. But it is surely not reasonably priced for my budget and I simply do not believe any knife is worth over four hundred dollars expecially a folder, for that matter I do not think any folder over two hundred is not worthy of my even looking at it, with the exception of CR's small sebenza in left hand build. Still kind of pricey for me but I would love to have one. For one I love the look of the knife and I do not have to worry if it is built right. I do not need a knife that lasts a life time because I can buy a knife of extreem quality in the one to two hundred dollar range or even less and use it for years and years with no problem with build quality. And by that time there is sure to be another knife I like that I would purchase anyway. I suppose I am not into buying a name "no offense" to the makers. Their knives are very fine knives.

But hey!! This is way off topic, so for what its worth, I suppose this is my opinion of high dollar blades.

My two hundred dollar opinion for what its worth. My opinion price goes up when four hundred dollar plus knives are discussed. :D :p

I am buying one if the blade can be swapped out for my tanto Umnumzaan?

We like the knife so much we made a shirt to commemorate it!

I just received my StarTac folder today, and am impressed. What makes it stand out from the standard Umnumzaan, of course, is the Starburst pattern that encompasses the entire surface of both handles, except for the portion of the lockbar that is directly under the pocket clip. The texture is both aesthetically and ergonomically pleasing.

The sticker on the CRK box, along with its birth card, have "Umnumzaan" and "Wilson Combat" on them. The lanyard bead has "WILSON COMBAT" and the CRK logo engraved along its circumference.

Come on now Lunde. If ANYONE should be posting photos of a newly acquired StarTac.... :)
