New Wilson Tactical-Reeve Collaboration

Pics or it didn't happen.......BTW congrats to all that purchased one. I've been eyeballing an Umnumzaan for a while...but just purchased my numbered small insingo a few weeks ago. Hopefully I can pick one of these up later..

Thought I would post a few pics of my Umnumzaan/Wilson Combat knife. I've had it for a few weeks now. So far I like carrying it more than all of my other knives. Opening it was smooth when I got it, but has gotten even slicker over time. It is the sharpest knife that I have had out of the box.

Overall absolutely solid. 100% confidence in this knife. An absolute work of art in my opinion. While I don't have a Wilson 1911 (I have a Kimber CDP II), a Wilson 1911 would look great with this knife along side.

I'm not a photographer, but did the best I could with my iPhone. If you want a different angle, let me know and I'll give it a shot.

Nice pics. Besides the starburst pattern handle, what are the differences?

No other differences other than the handle patterns that I can tell. Perhaps this is the first 'customized' Umnumzaan handle - the beginning of many to come? :-). We can hope. I would love a Damascus/Buckeye burl Umnumzaan.

I especially love the first pic, it came out well for a camera phone photo.

It is an interesting knife. The pattern on the handle makes for an aggressive grip surface. Similar to the stars and stripes sebbie, it looks like the pattern also comes with a sawtooth effect on the edges of the pattern. That is a downer for me.

The edges are sufficiently chamfered, so there is no sawtooth effect. Those who own one can confirm this.

To me it looks very much like a 'zaan.

other than the pattern in the handle, what is the difference?

Other than the different texturing on the handles and the lanyard bead, it is an Umnumzaan. It's all good.

I really like this knife, I have thought about selling some knives to get one of these !!!

ahhhh man it's a beauty!!

....I'd love to see a Wilson CR Sebenza collaboration though .... small Sebenza with the starburst

I got mine today. This is my first Zaan and I love it, the texturing is perfect.

I got mine yesterday and it is a beauty. I have been debating which CRK to get first. The Starburst treatment and limited run pushed me over the edge. Now I have to resist the urge to get a Sebenza for comparison.

i wonder, does these collaboration get the service from Wilson or from CRK?
what if we need it tuned or fixed? Can we get them serviced from CRK if we choose to?

This model is covered under the CRK warranty, and it is the exact same as the regular Umny except for the Startac face design. Here are the words from Charmaine at CRK that I got in an email.

"Good morning. Thank you for your question. The Wilson Startac Umnumzaan is covered under the CRK warranty. The knife is identical to a regular Umnumzaan aside from the handle face having the Startac design. I hope this answers your question and please let me know if I can be of any further assistance."
