Oh my my my, has it ever been a long time since I've been around these parts. Few names I recognize, but sooooo many new ones, good to see the Busse fever spreading as fast as always.

It took me a good 15min figuring out how to get rid of my 4yr old avatar today :D

I gotta tell ya I don't even know where to start my catch-up education. there have been so many knives these past three years it's almost an impossible task, lol

It's 2009 and time to get back in to the one thing I've loved most in my life, knives. CY2008 was probably the finest year I've ever had and there were mixed feelings about seeing it end last night. Looking forward to 2009 and all the knives she will bring with her...

Have a bit of patience with me over the next few months if I ask questions that one would only think a moron would ask....I'll either be asking because I'm a momentary moron :) or because the answer is buried in the never-ending pile of threads I've missed the past few years.

How about ya help a poor guy out and post your favorite blade you picked up during 2008? Give me a quick 30s education on what you snagged from jerry last year.

Welcome back! It's good when hog legends return to the trough. I hope things have been treating you well.

Here's my favorite pick-up of the year -- not a recent release so you're probably pretty familiar with it.

Tanker A #17.

My best snag was an original AK :D

Nice to meet you, Dark Hog. I'm one of the new ones around here, but I'll refer you to my thread in which I evaluate some of my purchases from the year, with lots of pics:

Having bought over 30 or so Busses in the last 6 months, however, my favorites from the year are the Competition finish Sarsquatch and Hell Razor, and the SFNO LE (for Hogs only). If you missed out on that one, I may be able to help.

Not sure how I feel about you coming back, though. From the reputation that precedes you, it seems there's gonna alot more elbowing around at the trough. All's good though. Welcome back.

Wedding AK !!!

Great to see you again Bro. missed you at the last couple of Blades :D

Welcome back !

08 was a busy year, some of the highlites for me are the CEs (Competition Edge) they had at Blade, SARSquatch, and Jack Hammer, still not a fan of the Hell Razor.

and don't forget the BADs, Boney Active Duty (extremely anorexic !)

I sure others will chime in.

Good to have you back.

Welcome Back.
I do not post alot but read everything. The wisdom and humor of the HOGs is what it is all about.
It is good to see Dunner on line too. At the RAT Mischiefs, River-8 and 360-Joules speak highly of you.

So here are some pictures of my favorites from 2008.

The first one is the Competition Sarsquatch. Convex zero-bevel edge.

One of my fav custom SFNOs from the Epic custom Ganzaa, in which there were many knives offered with tri-part handles made from different kinds of stabilized wood. This one has a G-10 bolster.

And some pants I had made for the customs.

I like the NMSFNO. I had a really hard time buying a mid-size Busse again, after having sold them all off. But this was worth it.

I love the Nuke EDC I got at Blade and it was the knife I carried for the induction but somehow I think the SFNO LE will be my favorite when it gets here.

OMG! That photo is so old I still have a mustache...I got rid of that furry little critter my god in what 2004?

thankfully I am in WAY better shape now :) Seeing how close to death I was back at that show is a harsh reminder of bad health, lol

I'm planning to be at Blade 2009. I can't attend any shows in June, since it's the last month of our quarter. However according to the schedule the show is still in the calendar month of May so I am probably able to pull that one off.

You sir, have some seriously awesome blades. Saw one, the FBM LE...mmmm, thick, big, & shiny.

Ok I'll bite...you mention the "Sarsquatch" and I dont think I saw it in your post (though I could have easily missed it). Normally with names such as "Sarsquatch" one can assume a large full sized blade.....pic?

DN,
Welcome home. Glad to see you back and I really hope you can make Blade. Start looking for a NMFBM Le I know you'll love it.
