New years resolution thread knives edition

In 2026, I am resolved to expand my collection of WW-II era GI pocket folders. By that, I mean those Boy Scout like camp knives that were issued to the troops. I currently have one in the style issued to Marines and one with the extra Phillips Head bit issued to the 10th Mountain Division to adjust ski bindings.

My short goal is to get one each these "Engineer's Kn ives" marked for the Army (UAS) the Navy (USN) and the Marines (USMC on a brass disk). A see-it-and-buy-it goal is to find one marked for the Navy Medical Service.

Long term, I may look to buy duplicates in better condition and to find knives from the various makers.

A parallel effort will be to find so-called "Demo" knives marked for each service.

I find it intregueing to note that amid the chaos and effort to equip our troops with whatever shoots and shoes to wear, someone figured out that they also need a pocket knife.

My Late this Year and upcoming New Year Knife(s) Resolution is buy / spend more on custom made knives and goods by members of this forum, and less on mass production knives.

Mass produced knives are great, and absolutely have a place in the industry and in my lineup. However, I currently have zero small batch / one off custom knives and want to change that..

We All get to This stage eventually....haha. :D
Welcome aboard!
