New Years Resolution. . . . What is yours?

I need to lose 10 - 15 pounds and I'm going to cut out alcohol and cut way back on carbs. I also dusted off the treadmill and the free weights so we'll see how that goes.

I have resolved to buy at least one firearm a month this year with ammo and a few accessories to go with it and to teach at least one friend or family member to shoot and bring them hunting.

I also live by the hunting motto 'don't shoot it if you aren't going to eat it.' (Ask the nephews I caught shooting BB guns at frogs in the little vernal pool last year how frog tastes.) The exception is unless it's eating or trying to eat something that belongs to you. Like your cat. Or your chickens. Not your garden.

Why buy a gun a month? I am so sick of Shannon Watts and the Moms Demand Action BSC crowd that I could scream, so I've resolved to do this instead.

I will buy one knife each month in 2015. I would rather buy a knife than a new pair of shoes or an article of clothing any day. I was also the little girl who wanted the GI Joe and the BB gun for Christmas and not the prissy Barbies and Barbie clothes my sisters wanted. I was a real tomboy growing up. (Am I a lesbian? No. I like men waaay too much to even consider certain things with a woman. Yeah, probably TMI. Oh well.)

I will try to let go of pain from a devastating loss in the recent past and move on with my life. I'm still not sure how, but I've got to work on it.

I will make an effort to tell the people I love that I love them. I don't think anyone has ever regretted telling someone they love too many times that they love them. Plenty of people regret not telling loved ones 'I love you' enough while they still had the chance.

I will spend more time with elderly relatives and bring my nieces and nephews mushrooming in the woods with me and teach them which ones are edible as my old Italian grandmother did with me. NOTHING tastes as good as a summer evening grilled steak smothered with wild mushrooms in a light garlic-butter sauce.

I will plant a bigger garden this year and add some pullets to the flock of chickens so I can donate produce to the local food shelf and give away eggs and produce at church on Sundays as I've done in the past.

I will strive to become more self sufficient and can and freeze more produce and hopefully venison this year.

I will ride my motorcycle as much as I can this year.

I will not eat anything with high fructose corn syrup in it. Yech.

Oh, and I won't eat vegetables because they're gross.

I guess that covers it. I'm looking forward to more INFI this year!

Oh, I like that! Ride your motorcycle down to Blade. I'll take you shooting.

After putting on about five pounds a year for the last decade, I've decided it's time to reverse the process. Fifty pounds by December 31, 2015, or a pound a week, with the weeks of Christmas and Thanksgiving off.

And every week I don't make the quota, two pounds of INFI goes up on the exchange (that's about a FFBM worth), with the proceeds to go into an envelope that either I get at the end of the year or my wife gets, depending on whether or not I reach the ultimate goal.

With any luck, that'll leave my with a lot of clothes to donate to Goodwill.

That first week was looking so promising; down two or three pounds after three days, but finished the week up one. I guess I'll be listing an FBM (actually, a choice of three) and an "Embrace the Suck" SJTAC within the next couple of days. If I keep going at this rate, I could be down to just a couple dozen knives by the end of the year.

Interesting. Think I will give that a try - with a twist. I will purchase one Bussekin for every pound I shed...Cheers.

It wasn't really a New Years Resolution but back in July I decided to lose weight and went from 256 to 180 , 75 Ib weight loss and still going. I ordered a TGLB to celebrate.

Great plan, Valeniiman! I have faltered with my resolution to purchase more ASH1's. Twelve days past, and I have only purchased, and received, my first NMSFNO. I also received an SJTAC "ETS" the last week of 2014. Will this madness never cease!..;-)

I've been thinking since June on a strategy for catching more of those cards you throw out at Blade. Last year I had to step on the first one on the ground. Someone caught one or two that I slowed down, and another much smaller guy even pushed off my shoulders to get more air.

I could always stand to lose some weight and started after Thanksgiving not drinking so much soda. That alone helps a great deal. Yesterday I took a friend hunting who has nowhere to hunt, and he didn't see anything so I shot one for him. He said he'd love to have the meat. Today, I took my brother and his girlfriend shooting. The extent of her shooting before or since I took them last December was a cap gun with no caps when she starred in "Annie Get Your Gun." They enjoyed it a great deal.

It is said, there is no truly selfless act. But if it's something I enjoy doing, and it helps someone else out materially or by gaining a new skill or perspective, I'll do it. Aside from things like that, maybe I can get a trophy wife like Pokey. I should be so lucky, right? Riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight.

Hahahahaha I just saw the "trophy wife" part. That is funny

Work out more so I can eat more and drink more while maintaing the same level of fatness.

That's an actually a decent idea

That's what I do. Go work out like crazy, then go home and have a few beers. If I quit drinking if probably lose 10lbs in a week. But I can't do that now can I?

My resolution is to be on here more and to smack/frag the pesky rats and mutts outta here!
